  1. My forum is starting to get over run by spammers who are real people registering, they bypass the recaptcha and a knowledge required security question, then post a few vague things to topics, like "that's cool" etc before eventually posting an advert with a link in.

They seem like real people doing this and I don't know how to counter it, any suggestions?

  2. I want to create a "$1 donation" subscription, which is set as a non-renew, would this act similar to the donation feature? Or will there be some implications using the subscription system this way?

The reason I want to use this is so it keeps the donations stuff with the other subscriptions (which are annual) that I have, to try and upsell users.

For Pages databases, you upload a record image, as mentioned above. That plugin only affects the forums, since it is only needed there.

Ah I see, I actually ditched the record image and used a separate image field instead because you can't make the record image compulsory.

Many sections (Pages databases, downloads, blogs …) have the option to set a featured image and that will be used automatically.

Forums don’t have that, since no one wants to upload a specific image for that purpose for every singe topic. But this usually helps: https://invisioncommunity.com/files/file/8992-og-image-for-forum-topics/

This looks great, can it do it with articles in a DB? I guess I would need to specify the image field though.

  5. Is there a way to show subscriptions in a store, like products?

I also don't understand the difference between subscriptions and products, it looks like by creating a product you can set it to act exactly as a subscription would - so what really differentiates these?

  6. It would be cool if we could tag usergroups like you can with individual users so everyone in that usergroup gets a notification of that post.

Perhaps have it so only certain groups can do this, as I can imagine it could be abused if everyone has access. It would be handy as an Admin to @subscribers in posts for them for example, like subscriber only contests or info.

  7. Excellent replies, thanks guys.

Yes, you can always edit any language strings in ACP > Customizations.

With that said, if your subscriptions don't auto-renew, have you thought about switching to Products?  They might be a better fit for your purpose, and they offer more options.

Can a product change user group? To be honest I probably won't change as I'm happy with how the subscriptions work and they also send out reminders / grace periods.

  8. Looks like I spoke too soon, overnight it has got to 31% and appears to be stuck, I can't see anything obvious. I tried running the background processes "now" but this just returns a blank page after doing the infinite loading circle for a while. Not really sure how to diagnose it?

UPDATE: I fixed this by increasing the PHP memory limit.

Yes you just need to follow the instructions from Cloudflare ... just change your Nameservers to the ones that Cloudflare recommends you and in a few minutes you will see your domain as an Active...

Remember at your ssl settings it will be good to select the Full SSL option.

Then you can edit/add your dns settings...

Cloudflare should auto detect your existing domain DNS records but it will be good to double check them also...

Woohoo! It works, thanks so much @ASTRAPI

I have 20gb of uploads to move across now, am I okay doing this by switching the filesystem in my IPS dash? Roughly how long could it take?

The tutorial is for using Cloudflare also so you can benefit wit the partner agreement between Wasabi and Cloudflare for unlimited traffic between them and benefit also from the usage of Cloudflare CDN....

Ah okay, so I don't have cloudflare setup for anything else. I have seen I need to change my name servers:

But then I guess this isn't all I need to do for my forum to function,

Is there a guide for this part?

    Thanks for you help.

    Hello

Yes you will need a dns record at Cloudflare.

You must follow all steps in the tutorial to make it work.

    please check them again...

I've done all the steps but for the CNAME at cloudflare surely I need to add cloudflare to my existing domain DNS records too? Or it's not doing anything, there is no step for this, I'm guessing this is assuming people already have cloudflare?

  12. I've followed these steps, great guide thank-you

The images have moved over okay but I'm having issues with it getting to display the images though and I think it's because of the Cloudflare step, do I have to add something to my DNS records on my domain? Surely just doing that Cloudflare step in the guide is not enough (for someone who has not used Cloudflare before)?

    Thanks,
    Nick.

  13. We have 390 markers on ours and it takes SO long to load, really lags out when zooming too.

Please can you resolve this issue as it makes it unusable for larger communities.
