  1. And this one for Wasabi and Cloudflare 🙂
  2. Great news for Invision customers. Invision will be bigger and better !
  3. I am not saying that Invision platform should monitor the disk space of the server. I just had an idea to warn the user that the specific Invision task will not work and will kill the server/forum on the above specific scenario. Thanks @Charles
  4. Hello I think it is very important to add a check for server free disk space and check also the files size from S3 Cloud before starting the transfering from S3 back to server. If the available free disk space on the server is not enough for the files that coming from the S3 cloud back then the server will be full and the server will die. Nothing will work with 0 free space and the user will be in a case that he will not be able to revert that task and the only solution will be to request from the data center extra hard disks to added on the server. Until then the forum will be down .... Doesn't seem hard to add that very useful info for the user when he will try to run that task and from a quick check i found: https://www.php.net/manual/en/function.disk-free-space.php For Linux hosts: $df = round(disk_free_space("/") / 1024 / 1024 / 1024); print("Free space: $df GB"); Or in your case it sounds like you're running on Windows so: $df = round(disk_free_space("C:") / 1024 / 1024 / 1024); print("Free space: $df GB"); Some related info on how to get the size of the bucket also: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/3910071/check-file-size-on-s3-without-downloading https://www.cloudsavvyit.com/1755/how-to-get-the-size-of-an-amazon-s3-bucket/ https://serverfault.com/questions/84815/how-can-i-get-the-size-of-an-amazon-s3-bucket But i think that you know how to do it anyway 🙂 Thanks !!!! Please add this asap as it is very important !
  5. Backblaze announced S3 api support (beta) so it will work out of the box and it will not need any extras to make it work with Invision !
  6. A few users complaint about performance issues and some related topics about sessions issues and (if i remember correctly) @bfarber replied that there is an internal discussion about it for any possible improvements/fixes...
  7. Great job as always 💪 I am waiting most the Elastic search support for version 7. Improvements on Redis caching... Support more Cloud providers like Backblaze e.t.c Hope to get them all in the new version 😎
  8. It will be great if it's optimized according to Google pagespeed....
  9. You and Invision Team have a full WOW from me for your hard work 🙂 Invision is a great platform and very easy to use. I appreciate your efforts ! Do you have any info and be able to share about supporting more Cloud providers for our files? Thank you !
  10. Waiting for support for newer Elastic search and support for more Cloud providers (Backblaze e.t.c) to post the WOW 🙂
  11. Out of topic but Invision in my opinion should focus a bit more on scaling as forums are getting bigger and bigger every day... Hope to get native support for cloud providers that are bandwidth partners with Cloudflare: https://www.cloudflare.com/bandwidth-alliance/ For example we can use Wasabi as it is compatible with S3 but i would love to get native support for Backblaze for example.... So forums can benefit from huge amount of storage for very low price and free transfer from the Cloud storage to Cloudflare and then back to users.... Thank you
  12. The redesign looks great but please make it darker !
  13. You just need to download the .xml file and then upload it to Invision. It is very simple. No settings at all.
  14. In the admincp it should be there as an option to enable it or not but not trigger anything else than that.... When a user decide to change the password he should have to do it through his email like the forgot password....
  15. Hello I would like to do a recommendation about the scenario that a user would like to change his password. It will be great if we can have as an option in Admincp the change password using email. So when a user goes to his control panel and he like to change his password to get an email that he must click on it to get the final prompt for the new password... Like when a user clicks to forgot my password..... Thank you
  16. I can see also the same timeout issue and on the log file of elastic i can see the result window warning.... On the log file there is a note also for some deprecated functions used but i think IPB developers will use newer methods soon so they will be compatible with latest versions and avoid any upgrade issues that elastic will remove the old functions..... ? All the rest are working great ! The issue is only with the view updates.... I did also a re installation of elastic to be sure that there is no other issues (configuration/performance e.t.c) but the issue exists ?
  17. Yes it will be good to know some basic info as at the end of January we didn't get anything ..... 1)It will be a Pre release or a final version? 2)Any E.T.A ? - I know the answer will be when is ready but if it is not out on March then i think is getting to long and maybe it will be better to add one by one the updates and release them, than get them all at once on an update once per year.... But that's me Other than that congrats to IPB for all that great new features !
  18. Happy birthday :-) Being a customer of you since 2007 !!!
  19. I guess that you will need that lines for your ssl at your server level that is needed ! You should have an ssl on your server and then enable the FULL option at Cloudflare.
  20. You must use Cloudflare certificate as the requests pass from there but that's not an issue..... Just enable the Full option at crypto and you are done There is no performance issue on that...
  21. Thanks for the recommendation Joel R @Joey_M Yet I would stress you would have to be very trusting of anyone you give certain access or permission to your vital data. That's more than true !
  22. MariaDB is a drop in replacement and all your apps should work with it. IT has some advantages compared to Mysql and that's why exists as if it was exact the same with Mysql then there is no reason to have two same things :-) One nice feature is the query optimizer and a few other things that you may need to manualy adjust to see a better result. You can use Google to find more related info. As i always say just installing a softwaee can't offer much better performance using default settings....
  23. I manage also forums with a lot more traffic....At pick times we have 4.000 users online at the same time :-) More than 20.000.000 posts and database size at 80GB and users produce almost 2 GB of data daily. Most reports for IPB 4 bad performance are related to use of many addons/apps. Also it will be an issue if an addon/app is bad coded without performance in mind... Also other parameters for bad performance is if users don't use any caching like zend opcache or Memcached.... One more reason is that even users use very good software on the server they do not optimize it! There is a ton of related adjustments as for very high traffic forums users may get limited by the system OS like tcp limitations, open file limitations and so on...
