  1. I'd like to see this added back as well. ..Al
  2. It would be funny if you put together an upgrade pack and it contained every file. ;) ..Al
  3. Yeah, I looked at that list as well, it is impressive (and I gave you kudos several days ago for all the bugs you've been fixing!) You have my blessing to push out 3.0.1 so I can work on it this weekend. ;) ..Al
  4. To be fair, I did say "most", as I know not every bug can be fixed for any given version. I know you guys will pull the trigger at some point, even with 'x' number of outstanding bugs. I know many people are waiting for some of the bug fixes in 3.0.1 (including me), so if I had to guess it would be sooner than later. :) ..Al
  5. Considering there are over 50 open bugs at the moment (and this is just IP.Board, I didn't look at the other apps), I'd be amazed if 3.0.1 is released this week. That's assuming, of course, that Invision wants to get most of the open bugs fixed. I suppose they could decide to fix all bugs they deem are important for 3.0.1 and then push the rest off on to 3.0.2. ..Al
  6. Holy cow, that server load (86.71) is incredible! ..Al
  7. Whoa, that is funkarific. I have to remember that so I can use it to confuse people. :D ..Al
  8. I agree. I wouldn't waste my time coming back to a site that implemented such a system. ..Al
  9. +10! You know, with a little work I bet the tracker could be turned into a nice reporting module. :D ..Al
  10. I think a raw format like HTML and/or XML would be good, but I also like the idea of a PDF file. I think PDF files will be more friendly to most end users, although being able to view an HTML document in a web browser would also be fine. But like Matt said, it is made more complex by the fact that you have conversations now and not just individual messages. Would be great if, say, an index of all the archive conversations could be made at the top of hte file (which looks like your inbox) and then when you click on one of the conversations, it would jump down to that section in the document (which could easily be done with HTML and PDF files). ..Al
  11. I do believe this is going to become an issue down the road as more and more "applications" are developed that hook into IP.Board. Even here on this site there are seven tabs and Invision doesn't even have IP.Downloads installed. :) I plan on using everything here plus IP.Downloads as well as the Links module. Hmmm! ..Al
  12. I'd like to see this as well, as many of my members use the Archive feature on my 2.3 forum. I even increased the size of the generated archives quite a bit, since they were arbitrarily small by default. ..Al
  13. I like that idea as well. :) ..Al
  14. I'd love to see it for the weekend so I can work on it and test it locally, but I would not expect it by then either. Next week is more realistic. ..Al
  15. Yeah, that's what I'll be doing. Too many headaches otherwise. ..Al Yes, this would be a nice addition to "My Controls", along with giving the admin the ability to restrict which hooks can be hidden. ..Al
  16. I didn't know such a mod existed. There are many times in the past I could have used it! Not going to install it on my 2.3.6 forum now (since I plan to upgrade to 3.0 at some point), so I hope the mod is updated for 3.0 down the road. :) ..Al
  17. I personally have used every element of the 2.3 search page. I find myself stymied by the new search system, it does not do as much as the old system, and the results returned are less useful. I have 1.6 million posts on my forum and it's important for myself and my users to be able to find what we're looking for. I've been using the search on this forum often in the last week and it's driving me nuts. In my opinion, it's clearly a step backwards for anyone who wants to do any type of digging into a large forum. I've never had anyone complain that the search in 2.3 is "way too complicated". The first field is "Search by Keywords". You can type in your query and hit return. Everything else is optional. What is so hard about that? Look at the member search! An "Advanced" pane could have easily been added to keep the basic search simple if that was truly an issue. ..Al
  18. Don't make me hunt down my response to your offer to write that saying I would definitely take advantage of it! Yes, I would prefer it be included with IP.Board 3.0 since I visit many Invision sites and it would be nice if they were consistent in this fashion. I don't remember anyone telling you don't bother with it, though! Please, save me the time of doing it myself as you are much better versed in these files than I am (I've only just started looking at them). ..Al
  19. Nice. Here's a previous post on the subject where I explained in detail what I don't like about the results returned from "View New Content" (and other related searches): ..Al
  20. That's pretty much what Mark has been saying above (especially with his last post), although not with those exact words. There are other changes about 3.0 I may not like, but they are not nearly as important or central as the search system and "View New Content" in particular. The whole search system has many problems and in my opinion mars what is an otherwise excellent release. That is why I have been so vocal about it. And this isn't something that just popped up with the release of 3.0.0, it's been discussed repeatedly since last year. IPS has been very slow to move on the issues that have been brought up repeatedly, which says to me they don't find them very important. I would hope so, but I'm not too encouraged by what I've seen thus far. ..Al
  21. Those are really nice things to to say about all your customers who are not happy with these changes. I and others have already explained it has nothing to do with not liking change. And it's not just the issue regarding which posts are shown, but also the drastic changes in the output and information that has been removed. These threads keep popping up--is Invision really going to bury their collective heads in the sand? http://forums.invisionpower.com/topic/287231-do-not-like-view-new-content/ ..Al
