If I uninstall the current version and install this version, will the members lose their current flag settings?  Many people changed them for fun.

Thank you, but not working for me.  I extracted the file, went to plugins and selected to upload a new version, clicked Install got a blank white screen.  Did it twice.  Went back to the ACP and it still lists the version as 1.0.0.

And this is why there's no flag for this country. If you add this language on your board, you also won't the flag on language selector.

 

You don't add flags or countries. They are hardcoded and come from system\GeoLocation\GeoLocation.php:

 

So, what you're saying (I think) is this needs to be addressed by IPS?

I guess there's no way for me to know.  I see a space beside that users name and when I put my mouse over it I get the pop-up for British Indian Ocean.  Possibly something didn't finish when I installed it?  Maybe it will be fixed when I install the new version that allows users to turn it off?

Also, how do I add flags / countries to users?  I have a few bots (Invite Bot for instance) that I'd like to add a country to.

Sorry, I'm not sure what you need me to try.  This was from a post in the forum.  Anywhere I see this particular user there is a blank next to their name.

British Indian Ocean doesn't seem to be displaying a flag?

Another suggestion, this came from a member.  How about displaying state / province flags?

Suggestion: for future updates can you give the user the option to turn it off?

I tried pleading my case, these are some of the responses I got in my ticket ( 928984 ).  I won't list staff names as I don't think that's right to do.

The problem here is that the image itself will have that orientation. This is because the exif data in the image is read and orients the image in the correct way it was taken. So for example if someone has their phone so it does not rotate automatically, then turns their camera to take the photo, they will have actually taken the photo sideways.

As we appreciate the feedback, this is the way the system works at this point in time. If you wish to express your feedback in our Product Feedback forums so that it may officially be considered and others may comment on the issue, you are free to do so.

If you hold your phone vertically (which these photos are) this is an incorrect orientation as the phone is reading it as horizontal and marking it as such. Then when it's uploaded it looks as it does.

Best suggestion would be to preview the image on their computer and correct it (most operating systems have an image viewer which you can rotate an image) prior to uploading it till a more elegant solution can be made within the suite.

I asked support about it, they told me it's not a bug and working as designed, so posting it as a bug will likely get the same response.

Since this is the product feedback section, and it doesn't seem we have any other avenue to make suggestions, how do we know if staff have looked at this, or if they are considering it?  Should a lack of staff response be interpreted as a lack of interest?

It seems most pics get uploaded sideways, regardless of how they were take.  This is really frustrating for the users, and kind of surprising there are so few pic options and IPS sells a Gallery add on, which i have for both of my site.

Please add a rotate pic option.

Wow, now I feel really silly.

I have two plugins.  I saw one had just a magnifying glass and upload new, the other had the pencil.  I thought this was the one without the pencil and thought, hmm, why didn't he make this like the other one?  I looked all over for the settings.
