Hello,

My website was hacked at the weekend. My hosting company flagged it after the event and flagged some suspicious files. I got these cleaned up and removed.

The hosting company did a fresh scan this morning and sent me the following. I have a large forum, are these files normal?

Is there a way of installing a fresh version of Invision to ensure all files are clean going forward?

We only have a very basic scan that searches for some common spammy strings\code that we've seen commonly used on sites. I ran it now and it flagged a lot of suspiciously named files still on the site. Are they by your developer?

Ok, apologies for miss reading the reply. Is there anyone that can do a clean up of files on here?

To me they look like old version files or files from old modifications and third party add ons.

To me it looks like you've still got the folders from IP Board 3.x or earlier in place on your site, and within those folders someone has placed a tonne of dodgy PHP files.

The following folders can be dumped as they are definitely from IP Board, assuming you're not holding on to them for a reason:

/cache
/converge_local
/lofiversion
/interface
/style_images
/public
/ips_kernel

While thats true, the uploads folder appears to be there too. So it will get rid of some, but not all

Correct - I never said it was the ultimate solution, but it's better than the OP thinking the following:

The following folders can be dumped as they are definitely from IP Board, assuming you're not holding on to them for a reason:

/cache
/converge_local
/lofiversion
/interface
/style_images
/public
/ips_kernel
 


Just checking, I should delete these folders in full?
