Hello, I am trying to unarchive a topic. I clicked the Moderation Actions drop down and chose "Unarchive". The topic still shows as archived. Now "Unarchive" is no longer displayed in the drop down.

Never mind, it ended up working! I suppose it takes about a minute.

Great, thanks Daniel.

Is there a way for me to unarchive all the archived topics? I didn't realize that moving to the Cloud would archive all those topics and I surely still want them showing up in search results.

The user guide states that archiving "is a power-user option designed for communities with millions of posts and a long history" — my community is only 140k topics and 850k posts.

You can adjust archive settings from Community>Forum>Settings>Archiving. Anything outside of that setting will be unarchived

I have disabled archiving last Thursday. Old posts are still archived. Any idea why they weren't unarchived? Thanks!

It can take quite some time, as it runs with traffic on your site, and is intentionally a gradual background process.

Is it normal that it isn't listed in my background processes in my ACP?

Yes. It’s not a normal background task.

The topics are still not unarchived. I suppose I must have a wrong setting somewhere?

This process can take some time, especially if there is a large amount of records to go. The background tasks purposely takes it's time not to cause any inadvertent issues on your community. However, if you would like to provide the URL to the topic, we can verify what is happening.

I am not seeing any errors when processing through the unarchives manually. It looks like these items are slowly unarchiving based off of going forward a few pages. Due to the amount of topics it is unarchiving, this can take some time.

Seems like unarchiving stopped at around Feb 1 2018. No new topics have been unarchived since October 2023.

Archiving is disabled in my ACP.

If you disabled, did you click to unarchive? Otherwise it will just sit there

Sorry I was mistaken. Actually "Disable archiving" is not selected - however archiving is set to archive "where last post More than 12 years ago".

That worked, and all my topics are now unarchived. Thank you!

Good evening, I also have the same problem unarchiving on the test site. I have to go to the tasks and click on read the unarchive command. It takes an enormous amount of time. My mouse click will no longer work because I am clicking so much. Is there a solution that speeds up this process, a query in the database? Can you help me. Kind regards.

Unarchiving is a gradual process. If you have set the system to unarchive everything, check to ensure you have a cron set up to run your tasks, as that would be the first thing that will speed things up for you

Hello, this is the only solution. Congratulations and thank you, it works perfectly. Best regards.
