Square Wheels Posted September 16, 2015 Posted September 16, 2015 Aside from a template edit, will we be able to edit the color of mentions? As they are now I find them far too dark and distracting when reading a post.
AutoItScript Posted September 16, 2015 Posted September 16, 2015 Yeah, I didn't like the styling either. It's the pre/post spacing that looks off to me. All of this can be changed in custom.css though so it's not to much trouble (survives upgrades, etc)
Ticaga Posted September 16, 2015 Posted September 16, 2015 @Square Wheels I agree we should be able to pick the colour
Square Wheels Posted September 16, 2015 Author Posted September 16, 2015 It doesn't even look like it's part of the sentence. If it's not an option, then I'll edit it with custom.css.

The @ to me is a twitter thing but the blue box says it's a mention already so redundant to me. Just need it when calling the names but not for display for me. Thanks!

That wouldn't be that easy to do because it's actually part of the post. I just tried playing with the :first-letter psuedo-selector to hide it, but it treats punctuation differently and so will apply to both the @ and the first letter of the name. You could probably do a javascript controller to remove it if you wanted to go to that length.
chilihead Posted September 16, 2015 Posted September 16, 2015 Thanks. In this case I will leave as is. Not that big of deal.

Joey_M Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 The mention system seems greatly improved in 4.1, I can barely use it in 4.0 - using FireFox but on here it loads as it should. I wonder why? Chrome is absolutely fine.
Izaya Orihara Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 I love mentions but it doesn't always work sometimes and the names don't appear when they should.
querschlaeger Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 @Square Wheels @AutoItScript @Licensecart @Rikki @chilihead @Joey_M @Dorian Blue (names are modifiable too) Users can style mentions by theirself. Admins have no control about it.
Izaya Orihara Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 Oh that's actually pretty cool. The editing of the names I mean....it reminds me of facebook @querschlaeger
querschlaeger Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 Is the following cool too? @Charles I mentioned you (Dorian Gray; hold the mouse over the mention) but renamed the name to Charles (notice: I'm just a normal user, I have no admin or moderator permissions here).
Management Charles Posted September 17, 2015 Management Posted September 17, 2015 @querschlaeger this is not a bug or security issue. All you are doing is being purposely annoying and a user can find about a million ways to be purposely annoying. There's no way we or anyone one else can do to stop annoying users other than ban them.

The post filter could remove additional (user added) style attributes from system codes (quotes, code box, mentions, ...).

Then you could just style a wrapper around it. Always ways to be annoying That's what the moderators are for.
