  1. I've just had the same email. They can't really be asking for account creds - my first thought was that it was spam. Anyone done anything with this?
  2. Have you used a relative protocol board path in your conf_global.php file?
  3. They don’t see your name in the app. Mine appears as “AutoIt Forums” and doesn’t seem to be visibly associated with myname. However, you do have to provide links to a privacy policy which the users can access when link their account. So depends on how you identify yourself in that.
  4. I hear you. The current header or footer placement IPS provides does indeed violate Adsense TOS. I’ve pointed it out before and don’t understand why it’s not been fixed as it would be trivial at code level. I think the last response I got was to buy the Commerce Or Pages addon to create custom blocks. There is probably a way to edit the footer template to only show the ad portion in forum areas but I never got it working. What I did instead was to only use the “after first post” option and then edit a few lines in the topic template so that instead of just the first post it shows after the 1st, 6th and 11th. The revenue of that worked out about the same as header and footer. Also it works better on mobile.
  5. I'd agree. Personally I kinda prefer a light theme. But seriously, if its as easy as they say "just edit the css" then IPS should get an intern on that job every new release and make it in-box so we all have a template to build from. It's awful trying to do it from scratch at the moment - all the relevant colours aren't even in the theme editor. Hello, ".ipsBox" I'm looking at you!
  6. If you are silently deleting comments this often you know you are doing wrong by your customers. Our moderators alway leave a note to say why content is removed. But anyway, open your theme. Click Edit HTML and CSS. Type "update" in the search. Do whatever comes to mind. I was stuck on 4.2.x due to lack of testing time and usual life issues and this would have driven me INSANE.
  7. That's what I'm saying, it only happens on the Default theme that has no customizations or anything to revert. Anyway, I just used the ACP support tool to disable themes and it created a new "IPS Default" theme which worked ok then I deleted the old "Default" so everything is working now. Probably because I jumped from 4.2x to 4.4x directly. @Meddysong Actually yes, I think I saw a couple broken images in ACP (not frontend) yesterday but hadn't thought anything of it but they look OK now with the new default I created above.
  8. Hi, I upgraded from 4.4.0 to 4.2.8 and I just noticed that any of my users that didn't have a cover photo set have a seemingly random background colour when you view their profile. Same thing for new users. See attached. On this forum users with no cover photo seem to have a standard image instead. Any ideas? Edit: Actually it's only with the default theme, on my slightly customised theme it works as it does here. Weird....
  9. I didn't take it down but can't seem to see any of the files I uploaded - don't know what going on there. I'm just upgrading my site to 4.4.0 this week so just making sure everything still works and updating if needed.
  10. Thanks, I'll take a look at the ipv6 thing.
  11. The cron task command returns immediately if it's already running and it generally is coded so that it takes around 45 seconds to run. Which means that you are missing out on about 10-15 seconds worth of processing. You can do a script to run from cli that attempts re-running the cron command every second so that you minimise the downtime. It only slightly speeds things up, but I think it's faster than using the browser option as that adds http delays in as well. #!/bin/bash while : do /usr/bin/php -d memory_limit=-1 -d max_execution_time=0 /var/www/vhosts/......./task.php a0b84115c9f762de7e1f33466cd5e389 sleep 1 done Replace the command with your own cron string.
  12. Ah, you can't do that when tethering. It gets replaced with a blue hotspot link that takes you into settings if you touch it. I'll try it when I disconnect
  13. I was going to chime in and say that I installed such a plugin on my board because I find it so annoying to browse this site on my phone and get RSI scrolling back to the top. Must check out this double-tap you speak of! Edit: Hmm, can't seem to find anything that does that. What am I clicking the web address at the top? Just asks me to overtype the address.
  14. Just updated my board from 4.1.7 to 4.1.12.1 and now I have a license error: IPS issue?
  15. From what I heard, if you are using innodb then it's better off staying as is, because the memory tables have the same locking issues as myisam tables.
  16. My install suddenly asked me to enter my license key but when I try I get: "There was an error communicating with the IPS License Server: SSL: no alternative certificate subject name matches target host name 'remoteservices.invisionpower.com'. Please try again later or contact IPS technical support for assistance" Anyone else having issues? Edit: nvm, it's working now...
  17. Yeah I was going to log a bug/feedback ages ago because the archiving runs under the normal task scheduler every 5 mins and only does a few posts each cycle. When I tried it I moved it to every minute and then edited the task to do a few thousand at a time. Otherwise the estimated time was measured in weeks :/ It should be a background task really like the post rebuilds after a new upgrade. In the end I realised that archived topics couldn't be searched and that searches on IPS 4 happen in a separate table now so archiving wasn't as important so I unarchived everything.
  18. As a makeshift reference I usually open up init.php and that has a nice-ish list of these sorts of settings that is fairly easy to understand/guess.
  19. My plugin does exactly that. It checks for a https version if available before falling back to proxying.
  20. I've found that stuff like that doesn't really help most of the korean spammers appear to actually be human!
  21. Arrgh the marketplace is driving me crazy, how hard can it be to upload a zip file Edit: Should be fixed now...
  22. Possibly. I've no idea how attachments work but I can have a look if the relevant bits are exposed when my code runs.
  23. You can change the text in Customization - Languages - Translate. Just search for "recently". But seriously, I'd remove the block - it's almost completely pointless and waste of resources as unless you have the busiest board in the world you're only ever going to see your own username there.
  24. Easiest way is to simply replace all of the template in core \ front \ global \ logo with something like this which serves the retina and non-retina logos in the same way as the retina emoticons: <a href='{setting="base_url"}' id='elLogo' accesskey='1'><img src="https://www.yoursite.com/logo_210x72.png" srcset="https://www.yoursite.com/logo_210x72@2x.png 2x" alt=''></a> I do something similar on my site with a .svg logo.
