Posted July 14, 20159 yr how is it done in 4.0? when Youtube links are pasted into a forum post, how does one get the video to embed and appear? I thought it would be automatic.
July 15, 20159 yr Author After you post link, hit enter.I've done that, it still doesn't embed.Testing it here.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=63aifWlQze0

Testing it here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=63aifWlQze0 If it doesn’t work for you both here and on your own site, it seems the problem is cause on your end. So you put the cursor on an empty line, paste the raw plain-text URL copied from the browser bar, and then immediately hit enter? That would be the correct procedure. If that doesn’t work anywhere, do you have any browser plugins installed, which might interfere, e.g. JavaScript blockers?

I use Firefox - I'll have a look to see if any browser plugins would be interfering here.

Above, I see post from Ralf as embedded video. Why is this?
July 15, 20159 yr An important distinction needs to be pointed out here:if you copy a plain text URL from an address bar and paste it in, does it embed for you? (It should)if you copy an already converted link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=63aifWlQze0 and then paste it in, does it embed for you? (it shouldn't)
July 15, 20159 yr Author I click on the address bar on the browser, highlight the YouTube url. I press Ctrl C and then in forum I press Ctrl V, and hit Enter. When I do this, it is not embedding.
July 15, 20159 yr In that case, please refer to the following post I put up in a previous thread for the same issue for someone else: If you see the same behaviour as that post then I highly recommend a ticket to support and reference the thread so they clearly understand the issue.
July 15, 20159 yr This seems similar to the @mention problem. Many times I type @username but don't get the popup, and therefore it isn't linked. This YT problem seems similar, something isn't working inside the editor. I am not sure why things aren't parsed on save, I'm coming from vb and don't understand the IPB logic fully. Just by the fact that post exists, there is clearly a problem. The link is correct, so there is a failure somewhere -- and the user cannot be blamed.
July 16, 20159 yr Author Seems to be working now. Paste the url, hit ENTER and wait. This was not working for me up to now....
July 16, 20159 yr I have the same issue with any content:- @ mentions take forever to load or just dont. A line break seems to fix or break it too.- YT videos hit or miss.- Images hit or miss.- Topic embeds hit or miss. All attempted with unformatted links and reported by multiple members on an active forum
July 16, 20159 yr Author It’s a global setting. I've set that to 500 pixels, but videos are still stretching the full width of the page.
