ASTRAPI Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 I prefer MariaDB and my second option is PerconaDB
TheSonic Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 +1 for MariaDB (because it's a fork, you may count this for MySQL)
RevengeFNF Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 MariaDB 10 for sure.Never used Percona, but i know its also very good.
Makoto Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 Honestly I doubt you'll find many people here who actually have any experience using PostgreSQL, they're just going to say they prefer MySQL instead of saying that.I don't use PostgreSQL often so naturally I prefer MySQL, since I have years of experience in using it, but I wouldn't say it's better than MySQL.(Edit: And as Rhett mentioned below IP.Board does not support PostgreSQL)
Rhett Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 We have never supported PostgreSQL, so it's not even an option currently.I vote for MariaDB, Percona, MySQL, in that order.
Makoto Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 Didn't IP.Board used to support PostgreSQL once a long time ago, but support was dropped because so few people utilized it? (Maybe it was only unofficially supported, I swear I remember a PostgreSQL database drive in the marketplace here once before though).
TheSonic Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 @Kirito : I just rember a MS SQL-Driver (if i am not totally wrong)
Rhett Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 MSSQL was supported up through the 3.1.4 series, and is no longer, PostgreSQL was never that i'm aware of, but could have been perhaps back in the ikonboard days, way before my time maybe.
Ryan Ashbrook Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 Didn't IP.Board used to support PostgreSQL once a long time ago, but support was dropped because so few people utilized it? (Maybe it was only unofficially supported, I swear I remember a PostgreSQL database drive in the marketplace here once before though).I believe there may have been a community developer who made a PostgreSQL driver at one point, but that was ages ago (talking Pre-3.1 era).
