5.0.19 is now available!
I'am now using Opensearch 3.7 for activity streams and search. My users started to complain that now the activity streams have a delay. There are new posts that take some time to appear on the stream, while with mysql it was basically real time. I found this in the tasks: It's possible we can change this to every minute? It would not be real time, but it would at least minimize the issue. If it's impossible for us to change this, i will probably change back to mysql. We prefer to have a search that is less reliable but the activity streams to be real time.

Is there a big diference in performance between Mysql and MariaDB for IOS? IPS only supports only Mysql 8, or also the last version 9.7?

Thanks. If i switch to Opensearch from Elastic, will i notice any diference in performance or results, or it will be the same?

This version supports Opensearch 2.x and 3.x. For Elasticsearchg, it's the same 8.x versions or does it support the new 9.x version? PS: For self host users, what is the recommended, Opensearch, Elasticsearch or it's basically the same?

@Stuart Silvester i see that there are a lot of fixes to Elasticsearch. Can you confirm if this bug was fixed in this release?

New website!
I don't have access to this: https://invisioncommunity.com/forums/forum/542-ideas-and-requests/ Clients with the classic license can't have ideas or requests for a future version? I can still see that section as a Guest, but not logged in.

5.0.17 is now available!
What i did was change back to Mysql Search engine, and i'am waiting for the bug to be fixed to move back to Elasticseach, because it is so much better than Mysql. Unfortunately, that bug is a no go, since most of my community use the Unread Topics in the Activity Streams.

5.0.17 is now available!
If you are using Elasticsearch, if in activity you set to only show unread topic, it will also show the read topics.

@Stuart Silvester ok, i will test it again. Can you also help with this? https://www.flashscore.pt/noticias/futebol-liga-portugal-betclic-fc-porto-chega-a-acordo-para-a-contratacao-de-pietuszewski/SKPpWSnm/ This link iam post here, have the og tags, but for some reason it's not embedding the link. I noticed that happens to other links that also have the tags, and at the same time, there are links that works correctly and it embeds. Any reason for this? Is there a way to check the error it happened for it to not embed the link?

I was trying iframely to check how it works, but it's not working for me. I did setup it here: I tested an URL on Iframely test feature and it works: I tested posting the same URL on my site, and this was the result: But for some reason, in Iframely i already have 1 hit and 6 calls, so the API connection is working:

Because you are on the free trial, but you can commit to the free tier.

5.0.14 is now available!
I’ve registered with Iframely and confirmed that the Starter plan is available at no cost, with no time-limited trial. In other words, it provides a permanently free tier, which is excellent. @Matt Finger From what I understand, we interact with the Iframely API, which returns the HTML for each embed. If that HTML is cached on our side, a hit is only generated when the embed is created for the first time. Once cached, subsequent views will not trigger additional hits, since the embed content is served locally. Would this be possible? According to the Iframely documentation:

5.0.14 is now available!
Ya, it's a no go for me, 50$ per month is more than what i pay for Invision, and the only benefit it does is embed content. But i don't know if the free package really have a time limit of 3 months. And once your community gets more and more embeds with iframely, there wilkl be a day that you will have hundreds or thousands of iframely embed that are using a lot of hits per day, each one of them.

The new Editor is still slow on any Chromium based browser. If we try to type very fast or delete very fast, it will become very slugish. I notice that it starts using a lot of Cpu power from the:

Do you recommend deleting all the files first with the exception of the upload folder and the conf_global.php, and only then upload the new files?

IC5: Introduction to Listeners
I was just curious to know if most people just use the base IPS with the official apps and don't care about using third party apps/plugins. That is indeed an advantage. And third party developers will also save some trouble because there is less risk of new IPS version breaking their apps. If it's something that needed to be done, i guess we will all survive like it happened in the past with other major changes.
-
IC5: Introduction to Listeners
But the percentage of clients that used the marketplace is very high, or the majority don't have a single plugin/app installed?

IC5: Introduction to Listeners
Wow... Things went to the wrong side. It will be too bad if Ips loses Adriano. I have more installed, but i basically only use 2 plugins. One from Zayed, the External Link Rich Embed. I think a thing like this plugin should've come with the base suit, but it doesn't. Hope this one doesn't belong to the list of the 80% of plugins that will die because of framework limitations. And the other one is from Nathan, oembedServices Manager, so we can oembed services that do not come with IPS. Another one i think it should come with the base suit, but it doesn't come. I only really need those 2 plugins, so i think i'm more or less safe. Let's see what the future brings.
