When is IPB 4.0 ?

Featured Replies

The main change lang needs is to not have to make a clone of the default lang set before you can even edit what will appear. That means if someone wants to use English, still, but simply wants to use different words to describe things, they can't simply edit their default set, they have to make an entirely new set just to change the words (or else edit them in the xml file every time they upgrade).

Yeah, we did that.

I think we can summarise by saying:

Don't worry. We got this.

IP.Board 3.4.x is stable and fully supported and we'll release updates as needed. IPS 4.0 is amazing and unlike anything else on the market in terms of scalability and UI. It's hard to convey just how advanced it is in the blog posts but we're absolutely confident that you'll love it.

Yeah, we did that.

Was this functionality changed in a later version? Because I still can (and do) edit my primary language set on my main forum without issue, but I noticed on my newer installs that I had to create a clone of the default language set to modify.

Luckily the words are not:
IPS 4.0 is unequivocally the best forum software...

Or remove the language protection in the db. Original communities did not have this restriction.

i hope it will be released before july 1st as thats the day my license expire.

Good news, IPS just announced the official release date for IPB 4.0 is July 2nd, 2014!

Just kidding. It had to be done.

Hey Kirito, where did they announce that information?

"Should I really post this? I'm sure someone somewhere will actually take the post seriously and get all excited about it and IPS will scold me in response."

"No, it's completely obvious I'm not being serious."

Bad Kirito. Trust your first instinct. People are extremely gullible.

So can we start taking bets on the month 4.0 will be released?

I'm good for $25 on May.

The common saying is,

Could be within the next two weeks.

Could be within the next two months years centuries.

Could be within the next two weeks.

Just the core with the apps to follow?

Or, this could be classed as a Lindy Achievement unlocked: EPIC troll.

In either case, that's TOTALLY worth a like. ;)
