Pinoy Biscuits Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 hi, where i can find the settings to change the theme from theme 1 to theme 2, where the input are/shout button should be on the bottom not in the right side of the shouts. thanks.
Rheddy Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 Michael, thanks for your assistance on my inquiry. I discovered that the settings for my installation for the shoutbox, as well as some of the sidebar hooks I was using, were all contributing to my increased server loads. I was able to identify the problem and apply your suggestions for the configuration and it resolved the problem for my site. I just never messed with the default configuration settings and I think I should have looked at that ... Appreciate the assistance in this matter. Thanks again.
Murder On Music Row Posted June 30, 2012 Posted June 30, 2012 I have installed shoutbox correctly. I click on the tab and it shows the board, I type in test and none of the links work i.e. Shout, Clear, Refresh, My Prefs. Any ideas as why this is not functioning? Thanks Timothy Smith Investors Forum
Rheddy Posted June 30, 2012 Posted June 30, 2012 Have you made sure that you have set the permissions within the Shoutbox setup as well as in each usergroup? I found that even though I had the settings correct through the application that I also had to select the settings for each usergroup. Just a thought.
miraclesun Posted June 30, 2012 Posted June 30, 2012 Go to "Member Groups" and click on each member group, and check the shoutbox tab. make sure the permissions are configured correctly.

kotaco Posted July 1, 2012 Posted July 1, 2012 app=ipchat You almost certainly have not done the steps listed in the post you quoted then. Every time someone has said they've done those steps but said it didn't fix the issue, when I tried those same steps on their board it did fix it. I wouldn't have posted if I didn't try every step multiple times with multiple hard deletes and reinstalls. :) That's why I asked what would be conflicting as I am trying to troubleshoot.
Michael Posted July 1, 2012 Posted July 1, 2012 The only things that can conflict with what I posted are not doing those steps completely.
RapNation Posted July 1, 2012 Posted July 1, 2012 minimized the shoutbox on one page temporarily. but now its minimized on every page. how do i reverse this process? i tried recaching members set cache and still didnt work
Michael Posted July 1, 2012 Posted July 1, 2012 That was an IP.Board bug, which should be fixed in 3.3.3: http://community.invisionpower.com/tracker/issue-37659-parseint-used-in-togglecat-javascript-function/
RapNation Posted July 1, 2012 Posted July 1, 2012 Community Forum Software by IP.Board 3.3.3 thats what we have, 3.3.3
Michael Posted July 1, 2012 Posted July 1, 2012 Then all I can assume is that either IPS did not fix that issue, or you did not completely upgrade to 3.3.3 properly. It's not anything I can fix as part of this application, the collapsing of boxes is an IP.Board function.
RapNation Posted July 1, 2012 Posted July 1, 2012 lol well idk what happened. i havent changed anything but all of a sudden its working now
°¯ðloh𯰠=Þ Posted July 4, 2012 Posted July 4, 2012 After installing in 3.3.3 i got an empty details when viewing shoutbox settings for the grp pls check the attached file. how do I fixed it?
Dmacleo Posted July 4, 2012 Posted July 4, 2012 rebuild master skin data, recache all skin files. think that corrects this issue.
Potimus Posted July 4, 2012 Posted July 4, 2012 i am having issues with my shoutbox. It was working just fine until yesterday i had some complaints about it not letting people post. I re-installed everything and still get the same problem. You type shout and hit enter, it acts like it sends it but it don't show up, then if you try and shout again it say "shout already being submitted, please wait until loading is complete." i have tried everything i know but can't figure it out for the life of me. I would appreciate some help if possible. thankshttp://gyazo.com/c011f7d69fa02bbc08e9cb49ea96e4cehttp://gyazo.com/836d77bee9e1cefa10d7f0cd59a462c7http://potimusmodz.com/
Potimus Posted July 4, 2012 Posted July 4, 2012 Sounds like a javascript/skin issue. Try the steps in the Shoutbox FAQ about rebuilding your skin data, it's in the section about the Shout button not working. i have tried. i am willing to send you a donation to help me out ;)
Michael Posted July 4, 2012 Posted July 4, 2012 It's better that you learn how to fix things on your board yourself rather than just throw money at the problem. You're saying you've done all of the steps I listed in that FAQ? Because those are the exact steps I would do to fix this.

dynomite Posted July 4, 2012 Posted July 4, 2012 If you left the application title blank to have the tab not show up... this can cause you to have above symptoms.
dean84 Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 Hi Michael, I have just set IP.Content as my default app, and used htaccess to remove the "page" part of the links. Now the shoutbox no longer accepts any content pages it in the "exclude" section of the settings. Any idea of what to place in there now? currently one of the excluded pages is app=ccs,module=pages,section=pages,folder=,page=football_menu.html What would I need to change, now that IPC is default and 'page' is removed?
Michael Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 There's no reason I know of why a .htaccess change only would affect that.
