Sparkal Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 Could be worse, you could have a perpetual license and never get to see forums like that again. :P I was under the impression that if you have the perpetual license that you have access as long as you renew your support.
Yuksel Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 Waiting and waiting and waiting and still waiting.... -_-
Keven Fox Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 I was under the impression that if you have the perpetual license that you have access as long as you renew your support. I think you're right, and I would if I could. Also after re-reading the news update on the alpha preview it looks like I might miss out. It said something about a link elsewhere as opposed to the Client area here under dev releases. Oh well. I'll have to wait longer I guess. We're living paycheck to paycheck and getting payday loans so it doesn't look like I will be able to "ugprade" for awhile.
boon79 Posted November 6, 2008 Posted November 6, 2008 Hi, Is there going to be any changes in the prices when version 3 is released?
whitetigergrowl Posted November 6, 2008 Posted November 6, 2008 Hi, Is there going to be any changes in the prices when version 3 is released? Yep. Prices are going up $25. We have to support their beer, pretzel, and Subway diets so they keep cranking along on IPB 3 and future revisions. A lack of any of those would delay IPB 3.
TrixieTang Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 Yep. Prices are going up $25. We have to support their beer, pretzel, and Subway diets so they keep cranking along on IPB 3 and future revisions. A lack of any of those would delay IPB 3. Hope that's sarcasm.
CynicalFrost Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 Yep. Prices are going up $25. We have to support their beer, pretzel, and Subway diets so they keep cranking along on IPB 3 and future revisions. A lack of any of those would delay IPB 3. Obviously, that's a joke (but it would help in the development of IP. Board 3).Note that that was also a joke. As for the IP. Board 3.0 Preview, those without licenses I believe will gain access to the preview when everyone else is granted access. Even if you found the link to the Preview, only those with licenses will have access (per one of the staff)
Keven Fox Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 I HAVE a license, but not support. Maybe perpetuals can get some forum permissions?
bfarber Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 It works off of the same system as the company forums. The preview will be opened up rather soon - we just wanted to polish it up a bit (fixing bugs, finishing unskinned areas, and so forth) before opening it up to the masses. I am not aware of any plans to increase prices at this time, but I also don't make such policies. Naturally you guys will be informed if someone does make any such decision.
Sparkal Posted November 8, 2008 Posted November 8, 2008 I HAVE a license, but not support. Maybe perpetuals can get some forum permissions? Don't you wish. I understand what you are feeling there. I have a perpetual license also.
henke37 Posted November 8, 2008 Posted November 8, 2008 Of course they need to raise the prices, the daily visits to the shrink are going to cost a bit.
`Scotty` Posted November 8, 2008 Posted November 8, 2008 You pay for support. You only accessed IPSBeyond because your support was active. It is only $25 anyhow for 6 months.
ByteAir Chhansen Posted November 8, 2008 Posted November 8, 2008 Guys The preview is out and it is just....... WOW........................ 100% web 2.0 WOW.......... Great work guys P.S. View the preview by logging into IPS Converge, then go to the preview link Only thing is you can't log in / register but you can see what it looks like :D
Dlf Posted November 8, 2008 Posted November 8, 2008 Guys P.S. View the preview by logging into IPS Converge, then go to the preview link Only thing is you can't log in / register but you can see what it looks like :D Non-Customers (such as me) can't. I can get to the board, but I get a error message about not being allowed to view it. ;) oh, I will eventually renew my license so I can get the actual files, but I'm going to wait till its out -- so I don't waste potential support (weeks|months). [#1000] You are not allowed to visit this forum.
Olivier Turbis Posted November 8, 2008 Posted November 8, 2008 What if you need support tomorrow? I think it's important to renew your support.
FCB-Mo Posted November 8, 2008 Posted November 8, 2008 i don't see why customers with support should be able to access IPB3 first, it should be all customers with valid licenses who should be seeing the board first.
ᴡᴅツ Posted November 8, 2008 Posted November 8, 2008 The preview will be opened up rather soonIt is our current plan to preview IP.Board 3.0.0 alpha the second half of next week (around Nov 5 2008 +/- a day or two) Any update on that? Paypal is rather annoying. I am waiting the 3-4 day que for the money to be transferred so I can renew my license. I hope it still works as the invoice says it is expired.
noop Posted November 8, 2008 Posted November 8, 2008 Don't you wish. I understand what you are feeling there. I have a perpetual license also. Hehe, I am in the same boat.

Where is IPS Converge?

joelle Posted November 8, 2008 Posted November 8, 2008 100% web 2.0 WOW.......... Web2.0???? Web2.0 has been around a couple of years, now. :P
ZeRoRaVeN Posted November 9, 2008 Posted November 9, 2008 i don't see why customers with support should be able to access IPB3 first, it should be all customers with valid licenses who should be seeing the board first. I agree, I fall under that category. We've been holding off upgrading because IPB3 is coming, so it's only natural we want a peek at it.
FCB-Mo Posted November 9, 2008 Posted November 9, 2008 sadly us customers with valid licenses but currently have no use for support are treated as second rate customers....
Dark55mage Posted November 10, 2008 Posted November 10, 2008 Customers only get the sneak peak like a week in advance before everybody else.
Keven Fox Posted November 10, 2008 Posted November 10, 2008 sadly us customers with valid licenses but currently have no use for support are treated as second rate customers.... Yes I think I agree, after all I don't see how it has anything to do with SUPPORT seeing the alpha version?
