  1. Or a small note (in the topic) some place noticeably close to the topic (out side or inside) that says what forum the topic/post came from. That if put back into it's original spot gets removed . . . Small addition to this as well.
  2. I had the same thought a few hours ago, would be nice and for the admin - possibly something in the ACP of one whole log (unless there is now) of the name, IP, e-mail, and what-ever else of the person(s) who gave (insert_name) rep.
  3. I just had a rather interesting thought for a suggestion for IPB: When selecting a skin (through the skin selector @ the bottom of the forum), a (little?) preview of that skins "page" (such as clean cut's topics page, when viewing a topic, or the user-control panel when viewing that, etc) when highlighted (haven't clicked yet). Would that be possible?
  4. How about an addition to this, on the registration screen let the user, choose a RANDOM generated password (based on what they want) - than have it e-mailed to them (incase they ever forget).
  5. Isdoo's quote below gave me an idea on e-mail response (improvement): Probably just me but it seems the two options above could use a improvement (not in wording but) in function. I can set, either by drop-down menu or user input when I get the e-mail based on my activity on the board (getting on and reading the topic that is) --- If I set say set 6 hours for say delayed, if I DON'T read the topic within that time I get a e-mail letting me know of any replies made -- if I did see the topic I don't. Why do I suggest this? I am sure I'm not the only person but when say someone replies to this topic, I will get e-mail weather I (had) read the topic or not, seems to me like some resources could be saved if the user only got a reply if they hadn't seen the reply/replies in x amount of time. -- Some might appreciate it if they didn't get a e-mail for replies they just read - regardless of time.
  6. User option of what they want? Every reply (with these: No Email Notification, Delayed Email Notification, Immediate Email Notification, Daily Email Digest, Weekly Email Digest) or not every reply (such as in IPB 2.x)? Or would that be more resource intensive?
  7. One possible thing is, if there is a apache version (& it works only on apache) than couldn't you (all) work on speed for the (indivual) version?
  8. Global setting for the old or new, or could a group setting be managed? -- But with the group(s) that don't get the new system they can't be added to a convo using the new system, only the member's whose name is "added"?
  9. ^Exactly, similar to the friends things: Just ask friends to register to rep them (but not post). "Easy" promotion.
  10. I see one problem with that: the user that "wants" to " "move up" " could just get his friends to create accounts and give him rep. Just as with days/posts - just wait x amount of days (either with or without activity) and & or post spam messages that don't really add to a topic and you'd "move up". Lest I'd see that.
  11. I doubt this is possible & or would be done, but here's an idea as I was reading the recent interview of Matt: Different software packages depending on the hardware -- basically multiple IPB packages for the different (base) server configuration. Meaning one for Apache servers, one for the others (that mainly get used) -- I mostly just know Apache. Just an idea:P
  12. I don't know if it's possible right now -- correct me if wrong, but what about IP (address) range & group as well? -- Let the groups that do use the system responsibly use it, while those that can't handle the system are in a different group . . .
  13. Probably just me but besides build number & date but it would seem good for the CC to know what build your forum has: Not all clients are probably as good with forums as others. Something like a table with: One column for: Current build [such as what .Wolfie had in mind] . . .(as of that day(?)), date it saw release, (two columns?), and another set for what build your forum has, if the Client Center can tell that, and one for the date that saw release.
  14. How about highlighting (or in some way) changing the user's (or groups) post? And I just thought of an idea of my own (though it might be somewhat useless) --- A little lock (to the right (left?) of a topic on the main forum -- weather the topic is still open or closed.
  15. Just a suggestion to what you (3 or 4) suggested :P
  16. If you wanted to see all posts of only one member (or a select group of members (by group?)) why not click a button (or something) that then loads that same topic but with only that member's (or group of members) posts. If you want to see all posts again (Normal) another (that isn't visable normally) button or link.
  17. Something I like from Zetaboards (oh my god! . . .) is that the "all topics" & "all posts" now (for them) are arranged by month, I really like that. How about something similar (for each serivce: Forum, blog, gallery). . . .

    ACP Tab

Or the forum can tell if your using a browser that can use tabs, and if so opens based on browser setting. Just an idea.
  19. I just thought of this while using the demo, this would (or could) work in a similar manner to how the multi-quote work(s) {or supposed} except for moderation in a topic --- possible in a forum as well. Basically a moderator can select one post (with a button next to the reply, multi-quote & others) than another post some ways down gets selected and every post (in) between the two selected without having to go post by post. This could also work the same for topics as well.
  20. Wasn't it in 1.x versions & removed for 2.x?
  21. Here's an idea for when tags do become a part (if not first by mod), ability to search tags by forum -- example: The Community General Chat (here), if I ONLY wanted to see the topics that are political, or about video games, or whatever, i'd want, I think that would be nice. . . . .
  22. I recall Matt saying in the sale's question forum (when there was one, a while back), something this (though again alot happens in (x) years!) would be in IPB 3. -- joinable groups that is.
  23. [ACP] Categorize Topic Multi Moderation -- Should sound some what self explanatory, but it'd be nice if we could categorize/organize the TMM we have, how we want. All those that close topic (for what ever reason) go into one category, those that move go in another, etc. Color name (posting) --- I know people probably don't care about the disabled (how ever slight(ly)) but it'd be a LARGE help to be able to TELL what color are in the option (see attachement). I'm colorblind, I can't easily tell what colors are in the box. And YES I KNOW of bbcode; but not everyone knows BBcode. [ACP] Organize Custom profile Fields --- It'd probably be useful to forum admins if they could organize the CP fields how they want: Fields that deal with gaming, those that deal with messenging, etc. [ACP] Skin Manager --- Would it be possible to revert changes made to (templete, /whatever) that was made (insert day, time, w/e here). [ACP] Limited amount of registrations --- Probably seems redundant but would it be feasibly possible to limit the amount of members that come into the board within (time frame)? [ACP] Forum viewable by group --- I think it'd be extermally good if while were in the ACP, while in the Manage forums section mainly, we can see what forums (insert group here) sees. [ACP] Viewable skins by group --- (ROOT) admin can set what skins are viewable to what group(s) . . I'll probably come up with more later, these are from other topic(s) I made, now that I think it of; most of the suggestions I posted do sound redundant. (And I don't mean this post, other topics i've posted in).
