I guess I have discovered why the TTFB of my community can reach about 2 seconds sometimes. I have Zend Opcache enable. And it's working. In the settings, I have told Opcache not to rebuild the cache (opcache.validate_timestamps OFF). The opcache.max_wasted_percentage is set to 15%. But it is always restarting in a few seconds, 1 to 15 seconds on average. It restarts because hits misses are too high. Is that normal?

Hey guys, I'm just wondering if there is a plugin to optimize / cache posted images that are used as thumbnails in IP.Content. On my website http://jrnetwork.net/ it's slow to load due to big uploaded images that the thumbnails are just resized images not physically resizing the file. If someone could assist it would be handy as my site is slow to load one some connections due to this :/ Thanks guys!

What is X-Sendfile? In short, it's a way of allowing PHP to tell your web server to deliver files to the client after proper authentication checks, logging and other application logic has been performed. This is far more ideal than forcing PHP to handle file transfers directly, as your web server is much more efficient in regards to handling static file transfers. How does it work? Normally when a web application needs to perform software logic before delivering a file to the client, PHP ends up getting stuck with the task of reading and outputting the file instead of the web server delivering the file as it normally would. Has anyone used the Amazon S3 storage option in IPB4? If so could I get the settings I need to assign to the bucket? I tried to move our gallery over and it didnt work, it said it moved all the files but they never showed up in the bucket and when I tried to move them back to our server they came back as 1kb files. I guess i need a access control script or something? Thanks!

My new host doesnt give SSH acces and PhpMyadmin doesnt import large database. TIP, this tool does it http://www.adminer.org/ You can upload your .sql file via FTP, then import database from server folder with that tool. Thats how i moved my site to new server. Handy tool, easy to install. Just upload file.

I have about 2 million posts in the database. It is running on a quad core Xeon E3-1240 (16GB Ram). I never really noticed any problems with the database speeds during regular running of the site but after having some problems during upgrades with some slow queries, I was looking into things and came across what seemed to me to be ridiculously long times for simple select queries. I was wondering if this is normal or is something messed up in my mysql config settings. Since IPS 4 has come around I've been looking into re-optimizing my website and forums. I've been researching some htaccess ETag items and discovered that I could in fact drastically improve my Google Page Speed and YSlow test scores. An easy addition was made to my htaccess file which showed huge results. Why do I say huge results? Because my total page size went from 0.96MB down to 335KB - roughly 66% smaller page sizes. I've considered submitting this to the IPS Marketplace in a .zip file in case there are others who may want to benefit from these optimizations, yet I feel a bit hesitant. Hi - Sorry to do this ... but with the IPS search limitations herein, I can't search for topics that discuss CDN's (Content Distribution Networks). We host with Media Temple DV (a variation of a VPS), and they just announced their new TrueSpeed CDN. In view of the slow load times of 4.0, would a CDN like Media Temples be helpful in making our board load faster? I'm kind of confused between the static and dynamic and seems like a lot of IP 4.0 is really dynamic. Thanks, Brian

I just recently setup my IPB boards with that setup and if enough people are interested in a blazing fast no-panel install like this: Centmin Mod (Nginx, MariaDB, PHP-FPM, CSF, APC) SSL And SPDY with POP Outlook Live Domains for e-mail and piping. I will take what documentation I did and turn it into a full fledged guide. I am an advocate of no-panel installs and management so I hope there is enough interest for me to go ahead with the guide.
