I know that in IPS 3.xx each page/block has revisions history so you can easily restore any previous revision. I'm pretty sure this mechanism should exist in 4.xx as well, but I don't see it. Can someone point me in the right directions?

Hi Many users asking to get super fast performance for IPB forums and very low (cpu) server load... I want to explain a few things in general and without technical stuff bellow so members will not get confused on how it works and how they must think of it. Imagine that you have a video file to convert on you pc (4 cpu cores). If you use 1 core the load will be low but the task will not be fast. If you use 4 cores the load will be high but the task will finish very fast. You can't have them both as on the first scenario it will be slow and for the second scenario it will not be stable and no resources will left for the system or any other soft…

Hi, for years I have been looking for a list that contains all the variables that can be used on the templates to fetch data such as $this->memberData['member_id'] that produces the ID of the member that is seeing the page or $this->memberData['members_display_name'] that produces their name but Im still unable to find it. Is there anything like that I can use as a reference? Thank you.

Hi, I have a small forum running on IPS 4.1.9 and for the last two weeks I am struggling with the disk space usage. There seems to be an issue with the MySQL size, slowly and constantly growing with about 100-120 mb per day. With apparent no reason, since there is no activity on the forum nor new users registered. How can this happen? And what can I do about it? I am not so much in IT and this seems to be over my head. Is it happening only to me, or others as well? LE: browsing through the forum settings, found that Data Storage Method was set to File System and not MySQL and this does not make any more sense to me why mysql goes up in size.

Hello ! I've had all my board's table converted to Innodb after the upgrade to version 4. Once everything looked fine, to me, I rebooted the server. Hi, We recently upgraded to 4.1.9 and having some performance issues. If anyone can help me out to resolve these issues that will be great. 1) Page load issues. Pages are loading very slow compared to previous version. Out post table size is 5GB and 90% of the posts belong to 1 perticular forum. Other forums are loading fine but the forum with highest number of posts is very slow. Also if i archive the posts will it increase the performance? Will the archived posts show in search results? Please let me know.

Hello ! First, I know, I know -- everyone here recommends Nginx for front-end caching! That said, we had used Varnish very successfully for several years, and while we're eyeing Nginx, it'll be a few months before things are quiet enough that we can consider the switch. I am heavily relying on private forums (the option allow to read other users posts DISABLED). This works ok when viewing attachments via attachment.php? ..... But i need to disable anyone that has the direct link to /uploads URl. How can i do it? I fi use htaccess is it going to be ok when viewing the attachment in the post? Actually there is the only place where i need them to be able to see the attachment..

Hello ! After converting my database to innodb, I noticed that my server is swapping, but this problem happens only when there is a WHM backup running. This backup is resource intensive and when it begins, I see the swap value steadily rising from 0 to about 600. And everyday, the swap rises each time a backup is running... Just to get it out of the way: nginx 1.9.12 (ssl/http2) php 5.6.19 mariadb 10.1.12 (all tables InnoDB, tuned to a degree with mysqltuner.pl) redis-server 3:3.0.7 nginx/php on one VM, maria/redis on second VM, both 4GB/4vCPU/SSD, different hosts, local LAN between them. 2M posts, ~100 users online avg. Hello IPB Community, I apologize if this question has been answered elsewhere, but what i've been founding on google haven't helped me much. I wish to restyle the CKeditor to match my dark theme, but it's very difficult to edit. I've went into the skins files to see if i could modify some of the skins. I even went on their website to add their monoo dark skin, which is totally outdated design wise, and the background is still white.. I also tried the contents.css file (outside the skins folder) which didn't change anything for me.. If i want to edit the colors. What's the best approach for this? So I'm a super n00b with web admin, but plodding along and hopefully not mucking it up too much. My open_basedir is set in /etc/php5/apache2/php.ini to the directory that ips is installed in, which is /home/user/domain.tld/. IPS is the only thing on my VPS. If I ever wanted to host another site on this VPS, would it be a good idea to move the open_basedir setting into my httpd.ini file (or another file tied to my domain)? I'm on ubuntu, and my apache virtual hosts have been set up in a domain.tld file at /etc/apache2/sites-available/. This file has my <VirtualHost> ... </VirtualHost> settings for my domain. Thoughts on how I should be doing this…

Hi, if i go in a directory without a file inderx, eg: https://laltroweb.it/test i receive a loop redirect cause from this code by ipb in htaccess: if i remove, all work again (i receive a simple forbidden by my server - cause global "no directory index" in my root htaccess. someone can help me to fix this? :| thanks, S.N.
