One thing is that IPB does not care about getting official translations, but they do not care about the people who are translating for free either. I have created 1.3.1 language pack, but i'm stuck now, because everything is a mess. The files are in different formats (i think the format changed around 1.3), and it's very hard to update them to 2.1.1, because i don't have control on what strings are missing. So please make a language tool in IPB, that analyzes the language files, and shows what is missing, and maybe reorganizes/rewrite the entire files so that it's easy to edit.

Anyone else think that the chat for IPB sucks! Why cant we have something that resembles more like an OCX or html one like MS Chats has! I think it;d be awesome if we could have several rooms and stuff, for say company products.

@ Matt and the rest of IPS: Check out http://www.microsoft.com/communities/chats/default.mspx See how you have a page with a list of chatrooms, and then select one and then agree to terms and then see a full sized chatroom built using html and css. Well this is what IPB needs big time, as it would allow us designers to customize using html and css templates but also manage multiple rooms say for products, and also it'd be totally awesome. I THINK THIS IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT!!!! All these mini apps such as flash chat, and Java ones suck! An OCX would be better, but even then i still think you should use HTML/CSS like MS have done. Please Reply!!!

I love IPB, but it should be kept as a community software, theirs too much stuff that should be external, for instance IPS have a download center, wiki, linking system, yet they are all intergrated within IPB, that means say your website is: http://forums.domain.com then your site downloads would be http://forums.domain.com/?automodule=downloads I think that the component system should only be used for COMMUNITY components and other features like downloads should added using a component system in IP Converger, this would allow a more realistic approach to the structure of a website using IPB. I have created a mod which allows you to have search engine friendly url's in invision board - http://mods.invisionize.com/db/index.php/f/4303 It would be nice though to have a similar feature already built into invision board, as my method uses lots of queryies and the only way i could cut them down would be to change all of IPB's files and skins... ...maybe extend the lofi mode so it includes calender, profiles and maybe make it use IPB's skins...

I dunno if this has been mentioned much (didn't see it on the first page), but I'd love to see a built-in PM Logger and viewer in the admin cp. We've already got a email log system in place, so I don't see how different it could be in terms of privacy and implementation. I know there's an excellent mod already that provides this, but I feel that something like this should be one of the core components of an app, not some addon that you have to search to find. (Plus, I'm lazy and hate having to reinstall it with every update :P ) I'd also like to have some more task manager modules like an auto user prune and warning system. I'm sure someone will have noticed that - the board error message looks kinda bloated. I mean, why have a "Sorry, an error occurred. If you are unsure on how to use a feature, or don't know why you got this error message, try looking through the help files for more information.", then a "The error returned was:" and then the actual error? Why not replace "The error returned was:" with "Sorry, an error occurred. If you are unsure on how to use a feature, or don't know why you got this error message, try looking through the help files for more information.", or do whatever, as long as board messages look neater. There are 10-12 different rows in it, that's just too much!

Not really sure if this has been requested before, I am betting it has. If it has well it's important, if not well here ya go... Simply put, "PM Logs" just like email logs. To see what users PM to each other. I don't see any problems in this other than privacy, but anyone can see the pms already...this just makes it easier to view them.

Hello :) I know... Maybe you won't answer my question, because many people ask it, but... :D I have to change my host on the middle of July, and my new host is one MySQL 5.x... When a mod warns a member and chooses to contact them via email, the member will receive the email as if it is from the mod, i.e. with the mod's email address. I suggest that future warning emails like this are sent from the board's outgoing email address.

I am pretty sure that this was a feature in the earlier boards, but I can't remember. Anyway I wish for the emoticons to be accessed by multiple bbcodes(?). Anyway like the :P one on 2.1.6 boards can only be represented in one way (defualt is :tongue:) but I would also like to have an option to add a second way to access it so that you don't need to upload two of them. So if you want to use that emoticon you can access it multiple ways :p, :P, and :tongue:.

We use about 10 RSS Imports into our forum. We also have some that are not enabled. Sometimes these are in there simply because we might want to re-enable them and don't want to remove them and then add them back later. 1) Right now, one can manually import all, but this also imports the disabled ones. It would be nice to have another option that says: "Update All Enabled RSS Imports". 2) The other thing that would really help would be to say (for a particular feed), "RSS Item Creator is Forum Author", because we have some feeds like that. It'd be great if you could click the headings such as 'Title', 'Replies', etc. in forum view and have it order the topics by that criteria, and then click it again to change the order. Sometimes I want to list topics by the largest number of replies descending when I'm looking at a forum, and this'd be a nice way to do it. :)

Was reading this topic over at IPS Beyond and if it hasn't been suggested before then well, why not make the Lofi-Version into a forum accessed by mobile devices. I don't know what will be needed to do this but I can see this as very useful. Also by mobile device you can post/check pms, not just read.

ipb still has bits of html hardcoded which would be useful if it was converted to template bits. Like for example in func_boardstats.php around line 200 there is "<a........." tags and i was thinking of removing $last date to the users group name without php editing.

Ok, as you probably know, there is a exploit that allows users into the server, but while doing it, it creates a topic called "justxpl", couldnt you just make a fix that when posting a topic it checks if the name and subject are "justxpl" and it blocks the topic and imforms the administrator? I know this is VERY easy to bypass, but I'm sure a lot of newbs will be discouraged and quit. Your software is great, I dont use it anymore, but most of my favorite sites use it.

This would be a great help for dail up user. What I am trying to say here is that, it would be cool if you can reduce the image showing in every post and topics with show/hide content link (esp in quote). Instead of showing it normally the way it is now. Also rem user selection for later :D Show/Hide Image with + - :D Good Suggestion for IPB 2.2 or 3.0
