The forums were just down for a few minutes, I'm just sitting here wondering what happened. I recieved no internal IPB errors nor did I recieve any server errors or browser errors. I just got a blank white page. EDIT: It just did it again after I submitted my post.

Am not sure am a fan of the "Last Visitors" thing on your puplic profile. It kinda intrude into our member surfing. I would like to peep into a profile with no foot print. What do you guys think? :cool:

Add the 'Edit by' line in this post? Seems to have no effect whatsoever on editing posts, if selected ofcourse thru the Full edit-version. I was wondering, wouldn't it be a good idea to add that to the quick edit as well? Just a little box next to the reason that says add edit by line or something, just because sometimes it is easier to just edit someone post the quick way and insert the line, just easier for overall moderation.

Technically, MSN Messenger is now WLM (Windows Live Messenger) so I think you should rename it to that wherever it appears on the board, such as profiles.

Hello! (Excuse for my langue English) on ADMIN CP, The Emoticons aren't by sort alphabetics. For example; Look "ph34r.gif and ninja.gif". ph34r.gif is on line 2 and ninja on line 6. and there are 2smileys ANGRY also... The alphabe; mellow angry sad unsure etc... m, a, s, u. They aren't alphabetics and we mix the sort, we add same smiley but they aren't alphabetics and we can't look always the icons if we have added before same smileys or not... You can do this by sort Alphabetics???

Editing permissioin override

I edit a lot of people's post on my forum, only to have them re-edit over my edit. Being an admin, it would make sense that my power supercedes theirs. It would be nice to have it so that if an admin/mod edits a post, then normal members cannot edit that post again. And if they attempt to re-edit the post, then maybe throw an error msg saying, "You cannot override an admin edit." or something of that nature.

Lets see what the poll says. I would really personally like it if you could remove ICQ, and add GTalk and a field marked custom. So the user inputs something like xyz IM and adds what ever it is. So that would benifit anybody. See the poll for information, anyone have any ideas to it?

It's nice that IPS has decided to optimize the code to bring the file size down on the javascript files. But often modding involves trying to figure out how certain features work so a mod can be made. Can you guys please provide a "full-jscripts" folder with the un-optimized code to make it easier to read for developers? The "jscripts" directory would be for loading it on the forum, and the "full-jscripts" folder could be just there for development purposes. If you guys could do this that would be awesome :)

Appologies if this has already been mentioned elsewhere, but I did a search and couldn't find it. Is there any way to change the size of the Personal Profile to something other than 300 characters at all? I have gone through all the admin settings I can think of and can't find anything to edit. Could something be added to allow this to be edited please? Thanks.

Hi, I'm having a problem with IPB 2.2 RC1. I cannot access the forum after installation ahs completed. Navigating to www.mydomain.com/ipb always redirects to www.mydomain.com/ipb/install, so I cannot access the forum. Can anybody help and figure out why it keeps redirecting? Thanks Btw, I'm using IIS 6.0, PHP 5.1.5 and MySQL 5.0.26.

Installation of 2.2.0 is much better and faster, although there is one thing I would like to point out within the installation which might throw our novice users a little. When entering your database name and database username and password it might be a good idea to highlight in RED Database Name: and add at the bottom of the Window something like...? "Database Name and Database Username must be the same" so not to throw confusion. Example below, Database Name: ipbtest Database Username: ipbtest. After upgrading to 2.2 rc1 ( I had skipped out on the encrypted versions b4 this) my skins kept corrupting with an error message about an unexpected ( in skin_global; listing different skin numbers (over a few days) in no specific order. I compared two skin_global.php files using "Beyond Compare" and discovered that there appeared to be an ampersand & thrown into the line of script that was causing the pages to fail to load. ANyone got experience of this? Is it just noise corrupting the files transfer? some other script generating this error, maybe when the skin files are getting cached or is there possibly a more sinister reason this has occurred? Your feedback …

Change "View New Posts" to "View New" then make it when you click on it you can select from posts and topics. Make it like what happens when you click on search.

Is this supposed to be a "feature"?! This seems like a very great security risk. What if someone turns rogue and decides to wipe out half the forums? I know I can restrict them in the ACP....but this seems kind of....silly, to not be able to demote another admin when you are the root admin.

Hi anyone! :thumbsup: The topic title says everything... currently we have two choices: or use the calendar and create a forum to comment the events, or create a forum and post'n'comment events in the same. :( Yes, it lacks a space to comment events... :ermm: I believe that as well as entries of blogs and the images of the galleries, the events of the calendar also would have to possess a comentary system... :rolleyes: And they, what they think about? The Board view works fine!, I've even done the new profile! But Topic view! ekk I get about 3 different ipclass errors, this is not asking for help just trying to get some feedback on what type of code changes for skins have been changed (if anyone knows yet) and when ipb 2.2 is fully out would IPB show the changes? (sorry if this sounds all odd :P)

IPS Driver Error

A few times during the 2.2 beta/RC stage I have tried to connect to the IPB forums, only to get an "IPS Driver Error" - There appears to be an error with the database. Why is this ? Has the forum been hacked ? Also, when I clicked on the Buy Now link for IPB about 20 minutes ago, I got the following error: IPB WARNING [2] rss_parse_feed_from_url(/home/invision/public_html/customer/core/sources/ips_kernel/class_convert_charset.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory (Line: 609 of /home/invision/public_html/ips_kernel/class_rss.php) What's that all about ?
