Bug Fix Suggestion

I think IPS should have some area on the site or in the ACP where it tells how to do bug fixes once they have been determined. For example there are already bugs being found and fixed in 2.3.0 that would be nice to go ahead and do the fixes for without waiting for 2.3.1. Some of them you can just read in the bug tracker and figure out, but it is hard to keep track of them thatw ay. I saw on another site someone post about the typo in class_post_edit (I think thatw as the file) and I ahve seen fixes for a couple other things. But it would be nice to have some place that keeps track of only bug fixes. (ones that are simple like that or critical ones that would be best …

I'm looking to buy the Community Suite for a project myself and a couple friends are starting. I inquired about the pricing through my client center and after a few back n forths got the lowdown on the deal. On the website it says the package is $249 with a support and upgrade renewal of $25 each six month period. I also checked the pricing for the ip.board by itself. $149 a support and upgrade renewal of $25 each six month period. Portal "No Seach Box"

In the portal settings, by default the "Search Box" modual" is enabled and should be displayed on the Portal page. Yet, it doesn't seem to work. I've tried enabling and disabling it. And it never shows up. Anybody any ideas on this and suffered from the same problem using IPB 2.2.2

COPPA Help

I'll probably get yelled at by staff again 'support questions' (but its far quicker than waiting 24/48/72 hours for an email response) -- But anyone else have problems with the COPPA routines? If a user accidently hits the wrong link, they cannot do ANYTHING. No way to go back and 'cancel' as it says: "You must either cancel your registration or have your parent complete the COPPA registration form and send it to us" I had a few users complain, and I finally decided to check it out myself, and yup...locked out of my own board. Got to go in and delete the cookies manually. The Cancelling routine does NOTHING....

2.3.0 Change to email login...

I thought one of the major updates in 2.3 was the change to login via email address rather than a login name, as evidenced by this change here at the corporate forums. Is this a configurable admin setting that I am missing? I really liked the idea of a change to email login. Thanks Eric

I noticed when a user registers they are automatically logged into the forums. I do not like this feature and would like to disable it. Is there a way to disable this?

I'm sure you like to see the positives pointed out. Good job IPS. You're putting the value back into this forum software. Obviously experience for others may vary, but this is mine. Quick Comment About New Admin Page + Other Notes

Just a thought, but I really think from an aesthetic and productivity standpoint, it would make a lot more sense for the Communication box to be above the Tasks and Statistics box. The reasoning I have behind this is that if I were to post a note for another admin they would have to scroll down to see the box (currently using a resolution of 1440x960). If these notes are important for other admins they should be at the top of the page. Also just a suggestion that I thought of while typing this. I like the security center and the way files are scanned. I am just curious that maybe as a precaution there should be a Security box on that main admin page or possibly insid…

Hi there! I'm using a german Invision Power Board and always after I wrote a topic, the first letters of every word will get capitalized. Is this a bug or can I disable this function in ACP? For example: My Tech-Admin openes a topic with Title (Update to version 2.3.0) and IPB makes Hope for help.

I have found a bug in the Control Panel to edit your member info. I edit where I lived and this was like 2 days ago. and I was reading my post I just posted before this one and noticed that it still says " From: Boynton Beach, Fl". Let me know if this is my problem or IPB it self! And if anyone else is having this problem POST! so I dont feel left out! EDIT: Tried it again and still does not change!

I think it be cool to have a built in address book for members. Now make it where like my contacts are not viewable by other contacts. Also possible the option to where i can add my information in the address book and make it "publicly" meaning guests and anyone can view any information i enter in the address book and click Viewable by public, and also have Private. Just an idea. Anyone else like the idea?

My parrents purchased IPB for my 13th birthday, It's a wonderful forum software. However, I'm still waiting for the paypal order to clear, since I got a "Error Detecting Gateway". That aside, I love Invision Power Board. Keep up the great work. :)
