   Forum Portal "Latest Topics" (permissions wrong)

   OK, I've just been playing around with one of the modules that comes with the forum software as default. The "Latest Threads" module. That grabs thread titles only (not thread content), and displays them on your portal page. Well here is what I just did, I just setup a forum board to not allow guests to view the content posted, but still be able to view the thread titles. Now keep in mind that the "Latest Topics" module only displays the "thread titles" only anyway and no content. Well, I just spotted that the module will now not even display thread title taken from that forum board now. When really based on permissions it should do.    Many of my board visitors attach very big images "as is". Whose images are too big and causes useless waste of space. I think, it whould be nice to automatically downscale images after upload. To get 200kb files instead of 5Mb, for example. Gallery already have such feature, to define maximal picture dimentions, but forum - doesn't. I remember, here were similar suggections of the same kind, but nothing happended. Only third-paty mods available. I think, such functionality is significant enougth to be official. Can I hope to see such feature in next releases? Regards,

   Suggest that a copy of the PM, including the message text, is emailed when the PM is read. And that a similar email is generated when sending a PM. This will make it possible to have a complete local backup of PM's, in an easier way than the current archiving function.

   Hello! I'm sorry for my english, but I am italian. I have used Ipb Converter and I have converted SMF data (forums, topics, etc.) in IPB Data. Now my IPB has saved SMF data but I can't view Forums. There are categorie, but are not forums. How can I resolve?

   I'd like you to add the ability to control members subscriptions. Ie, remove them. We are having terrible problems as our board gets bigger with members subscribing to everything and then thousands of emails harassing them. Often we get complaints, either from AOL, MSN, Yahoo feedback tools or directly from members to remove them off the list. However, the only way I can do it is change their pass, login to their account and then remove them. Then have to email them a new pass. Very time consuming. Thanks

   Some of my visitors use the same notebook at home & at work. Because of that, I can't set security setting to maximum. I think, such setting should be moved to personal profile & login window: IP match for sessionCookies expiration timeStronghold or hotregards, Vitaly.

   Hey all, I have a lot of forums that are 'mimicked' in security, description, settings, etc.. Why don't we have a 'mass' change for these? Let's say I want to give read rights to everybody on 5 forums. I have to go through 5 forums and do this. I have over 40 forums now -- how about we make it a bit easier, eh? Just a thought....

   Basically, I'm using Subdreamer with IPBoard integrated. Somehow I've managed to screw up the new IPBoard skin, and now I need to reinstall it because it's not 'reverting' back as it should and there's lots of things now missing from it. I preferred the new one too! Is there anywhere to download the skin?

    Wouldn't it make sense not to uppercase words that are already lowercase? e.g. "Stop shouting in topic titles?" becomes "Stop Shouting In Topic Titles?". Can't we leave as it is? So that just shouting becomes as it should be. "STOP SHOUTING IN TOPIC TITLES?" might become "Stop Shouting In Topic Titles?", that would be ok, because it would be very difficult to detect what should be lowercase. But words that are already lowercase should stay lowercase.

    When is IP.Board going to recognize Yahoo Slurp and MSNBot crawlers instead of just Googlebot, Archive.org, and AskJeeves??? Yahoo's crawler does wonders to one's Online List (i've just spotted 33 "guests" that were actually Yahoo Slurp crawlers [yahoo hasn't learned to keep all of it's crawler servers under 1 IP Address like Google has] ) :(

    New Skin Help

    I have yet to get a good answer for this. I am currently running 2.2 and am at the biginning stages of creating a new skin. Should I upgrade to 2.3 and base the new skin off of the 2.3 Pro skin? If so, why? What are the advantages of this new skin? I can't find anything that details why it was changed and what is better about it. Thanks in advance!

    Ok I have NO clue what is going on. I work at Forumize and when you login it says it logs you in and does the redirect but nothing happend. So he was working on it. Then on MY forum a member contacted me about the same problem! and this forum is on a totally different server! and Im running 2.3.0 and Forumize is running 2.3.1?? IM LOST!

    I can see the advantage for IPS to show the links to the IPS Blogs in the our ACPs, but I am struggling to see the user benefit. Especially when it's features above the Bulletin and Latest ACP Login boxes. It's not even like the blogs are regularly updated. Would be nice to be able to move them about, or better still remove the ones we don't want or need.

    I have a problem with topics. yesterday i upgraded my forum to 2.3 from 2.2, after the upgrade i got into topics and it gave mt this error: IPS Driver Error There appears to be an error with the database. You can try to refresh the page by clicking here What can I do?
