Ive activated my account at furiousaquatics.invisionzone.com with the name helen wright. When or how can i change my user account to the customer group so that i can post my questions and concerens regarding IPB support, im not sure if this was posted in the wrong place ( i couldnt post it in the cusomer area lol) Anyways; someone help me if you have the time! Groups Merge "Dump" Option

It would be very useful to have the option to MERGE one User Group into another. I haven't seen this feature yet, but it would satisfy the need to migrate an entire user group into another. Use Case: A new user group is created based upon a new privileged Semester or Yearly Membership group. Once that period is completed, that entire group is dumped back into the general membership pool. When the user-list becomes large, it becomes very unwieldy to singly change each individual's group membership. One might argue to simply change that new group's properties to mimic the "general" group, but that becomes unwieldy after only a few cycles/years, thus accumulating unn…

Is there a code out there for IP.Board 2.3.4 so I can hide content. And the only way for the members to see is to reply to the thread. I've seen codes like this but I haven't been able to find any. Can someone please help?

I bought Invision Powerboard in 11/26/07 and i ordered a db conversion from phpbb in 11/27/07.... Now is 02/19/08 and nothing is done... Renewal license is due to 05/26/08, and i havent use the board. How is this possible? I use phpbb from 2004, my board is populated with members, groups, topics... we deal with technical problems with boilers, heating equipments, and we wanna keep the history... Some guy with a very deep voice (I don't know his name because he didn't say who he was) helped me merge my 3 separate invoices that I was late on paying into one, which I just paid. Preventing members from deleting their attachments

We have found a small 'problem' in that in the members control panel they can delete their attachments. It kind of makes the 'limit edit time' feature worthless. What happens is a members posts for awhile, then decides they want to delete their account and all the photos or videos they have posted, etc... Needless to say, it ends up leaving a massive amount of holes in threads, topics that are empty, and the list goes on and on. So admin mut go in and clean these now empty posts up one at a time wasting hours on fixing the 'board' to look consistant again. What usually happens is a member posts a copyrited photo. I was thinking that you should have a site connection to IPSBeyond or something. That a every user can contribute to the language files. You should also add the ability to upload a previous language packade from a earlier version of IP.Board, and the then script adds the correct string into the correct place of the new file. Launchpad.net is a similar service for Ubuntu. In the ACP, you should do as they have done with ExpressionEngine. That the string in english is displayed above the field you are about to translate. This would make it easier to translate it, and when you have got hold of a public package you can easliy translate the strings that you mean is uncorrect…

Ok..... We have this form that was a general topic for a certain area in the game we're a fan site of. We had to split this into four different groups and sort through the topics, moving them into the appropriate form. There are several things I noticed about this that I wish would change or be added: 1) The checkboxes need to be a little more pronounced. Having a blue vs red check isn't helping. A regular checkbox or a graphic that has an empty box vs checked box would be a little more obvious. Think about people who are color blind... Hi It could sound "stupid" but a lot of members can't afford license and average quality hosting (free and paid) with mysql. Per example it is not easy today to find a reliable free hosting with mysql without paying an extra. An API DB text could be useful for small forums on free hosts. DB could me made as .txt or .dat ...etc :lol:

On Facebook.com, when using the messaging feature, if you write a message that includes a weblink, the system goes off and fetches the title of that target webpage, together with an abstract of the page and a thumbnail. Would be cool if IPB could have the same feature. Make the settings customisable by admin, of course. On my forum, for example, users are forever posting something like: It would be great if the forum would automatically change this to: The IPB post page would need a bit of AJAX that detects when someone writes a URL, it then goes off and fetches the page at that URL, extracts the HTML "title" tag, and creates an abstract from the page content…

Hello. I am trying to login to the IPS Client Area so I can pay for my new license. I filled out the whole purchase form and everything and even got an e-mail from IPS with my login information, but when I try to log into the Client Area, I get redirected right back to the login page instead of the client area. Just thinking it might be a good idea to have a svn for clients so that we can update our forum via svn. Doesn't need to be a live area as i've seen topics before saying this wouldn't be very possible but i use svn with alot of my softwares and think its a nice and easy way to update them with little effort. Would enable us to download bug fixes and security updates instantly too..

As our site has recently shifted it's subjects, we have had to delete some forums. Since a few full category forums with child boards needed to be deleted, I looked for a way to kill the child forums too. But I could not. I think that it should be possible to remove the child forums along with the main forum. And in addition, to be able to delete the topics in the forum along with the forum. Sure, I support having the option to move the contents instead of deleting it, but I want the option of deleting it too! Well, I better get back to work, I got like 20-30 forums to kill manually.
