Argh!

Hello everyone, I know this is probably the wrong place to post but for some reason I can't start a new topic in the Customer Support forum. Anyway, I'm with 'Just Host' and findest it so difficult to import my board to it's stressing me out. Okay so far I've downloaded and unzipped my files and extraced the 'upload' folder to 'public_html' on my web host. The 'upload' is now re-named 'forum'. I've changed the required perms from 777 to 755 and STILL I get this message when I type the correct URL into my browser... 500 Error - Internal Server Error The server encountered an unexpected condition which prevented it from fulfilling the request. I've tried everythi…

IPB 3, Bug Tracker and Errors
by Guest Energizer- 8 replies

Is it possible to develop a software, which contains all functions of the IPB to its correct function? Maybe it's a crazy question. I see only that the reports of error very time intensive and takes a long time. There are also many double error reported. I wish I often otherwise in view of the matter, if it is possible?

PM Suggestion
by Guest Brandon D- 7 replies
- 1.3k views
I realize IPB3 is pretty much feature locked at this point, but just an idea for the future: It would be nice if there was a 'Conversation Summary' underneath the add reply form, like there is for the 'Topic Summary' when replying to topics. I just assumed it had it last night and was surprised to find out it didn't :P

Custom Member Titles
by Guest Fabis- 4 replies
- 3.1k views
In ACP i saw that you can give the members an ability to write their own Member Title, but the problem is that they need to achieve a post count for them to do it. Is there a way to make it so a specified membergroup can change their Member Titles whenever they want and whatever their post count is? Like, for example, if i have a Donator membergroup and for donating i want them to have an award - changing their own member titles and so they can change them whatever their post count is.

Deleting posts and postcount
by Guest Sophie R.- 3 replies
Simple Machines and VBulletin already do it: when a post is deleted, the postcount of the affected member is updated to reflect the change. Will this be in the new forum? Because it would be nice not having to go to the admin CP and rebuild postcount once a while which upsets my members. If a post is deleted and it is immediately reflected in the postcount they wouldn't be so much upset. Now they don't understand why they lost so many posts.

How to install the beta
by Guest ACL- 8 replies
- 1.3k views
Great job with the beta. As a software developer I can appreciate the amount of work it must have taken. I assume many thousand man hours have been spent to date. Maybe I'm missing something but I downloaded the beta, unzipped and looked at the install instructions. Did I look in the right place. I couldn't see anything on the need to install ioncube etc. Can someone point me to the install instructions. Thanks,

I know this IPB2 User Guide that you can find here on eBay, I hope something similar is going to be made for IPB3, I am one of those who would buy it like the perfect bedside book!

Drag and Drop Forums/Categories
by Guest IP.iBaLLiN- 3 replies
- 1.2k views
This suggest probably goes to a 3.1 release - How about giving users the ability to drag and drop categories and perhaps even forums to arrange them to their preferences. It could remember their choice on their account.. I think it would be nice in cause there are too many forums on the index for their liking, they can move the forums they don't use to a category and minimize it.. Hope this makes sense. Also, in order to revert all changes, have a button saying Return to Default Order. Thoughts?

View New Content with Gallery and blog posts
by Guest Zepher- 1 reply
- 1.1k views
I like the view new content feature on the board but am curious if new blog posts and gallery images could be included. I see the Topic button and think users would like to see a new blog, new blog post or new gallery, new pic, or other buttons for content from components. Also could open it up to developers to use for wiki, articles, and review posts. Anyway, 3.0 board looks great, just figure I'd add a feature request.

Basically just cleaning up and aligning a few things. Only thing i didn't fix is the different height of the hook. (continuation of my post in the Beta 4 topic)

You know that there is like + sign, at each replys? at the right bottom corner. ( The one above multiquote) Well, I was thinking we can modification on that somehow. Add a Show: thing like in Youtube. Ex. Show: Highest + ratings first to least + rantings Show: Most Recent Replys Show: (Original IPB way) Show: Only <5 + ratings ETC.. I hope you understood...

Custom fields ability been altered?
by Guest sunrisecc- 13 replies
- 2.2k views
I have been following a bug in the tracker with deals with custom fields. In 2.3.6 I have 3 custom fields (for private info) which are displayed and require completion at registration time. Thereafter the member can only see his/her own private custom fields. The admins can always see everyone's private fields. The fields were added recently. Members who did not complete these fields at registration time (prior to the fields being added) must complete these fields the next time they alter their user settings. Is this facility being maintained in 3.0?

CSS Change
by Guest Estranged- 3 replies
While I don't necessarily like the color for the css change (I guess it's for h2 or h3, I haven't looked), I still think it's nice that a change was made there where if we want tables or pages which "look" like they have tables to look closer to IPB 2.3 with something surrounding the titles, it is already done and I would assume easily changed around. I guess I could have done it myself for me, but I haven't messed around with CSS often. On the other hand I was getting used to the way it was, despite not liking it that way. lol

Will there be an upgrade pack...
by Guest jhutch- 5 replies
- 1.1k views
If I were to install the Beta 4, will there be upgrade packs that would bring me all the way up to the final release? Or does it start over for the RC's? Or how exactly does that work. I would love to start skinning, organizing forums, etc. But I don't want to start that if I am going to have to start all over later.

Quick Edit Save button not working?
by Guest Mark H.- 14 replies

Perhaps it's just me, but the Save button on the Quick Edit box (existing post) won't "click", so it won't save. If I go to the Full Editor for an existing post, the Save button there works fine.

IPB3: Topic Titles in Email Subject Heading
by Guest coe- 14 replies
- 2.4k views
Currently, in IPB 2 when you get an email notification. The subject is a generic there is a new topic notification. It would be very useful to actually have the topic title included in the subject header. This will help: 1. Provide distinction between each email notification. 2. Allow threading locally by email clients. 3. Match a very useful feature other leading boards already have had for more than a few previous releases. 4. Improve overall experience.

IPB2.0: SQL issue after moving site
by Guest EdContradictory- 4 replies

Sorry, but I can't post in the peer to peer support forum for some reason. We moved our forum software to a new host. Everything works the same as before EXCEPT sending PMs. It throws a SQL error. The tables and columns are all there. Anyone seen this before?

Webhostingtalk got hacked a couple of days ago. Their database tables were compromised and it's already out there to download. :o How does IPB encrypt the database? Is it as good as VB's method?

Custom Profile Fields

I'd like to get an answer to a feature that I'd love to see : In "Custom Profile Fields", in addition to Text Area / Text Input / Drop Down Box, could IPB3 provide Checkboxes to enable multiple answers? :)
