  1. An .htaccess password would be easier and more effective in keeping out unwanted people than giving a second, separate ACP password.

    "Undo" feature

See his comment on the trash can. If the post or topic were not still in the trash can or the trash can were not enabled [and I don't know about other sites, but ours prunes the trash can regularly], such a feature would break.
  3. I really think avatars should at least be checked against the blacklist... They are external images that are displayed to users. No different from the image BBCode in its result, just in a different location. Should I report this as a bug?
  4. How about for avatars? I haven't checked if it was fixed in 3.0, but our site recently discovered that avatars apparently aren't actually checked against the word filter or the blacklist in 2.3. It made managing a phishing attack slightly more work than it should have been.
  5. I believe Neowin has an iPhone/smartphone skin in the works; the guy posted a screenshot of it some time ago. I don't recall whether they had plans to release it publicly, though.
  6. On Alexa: Mid May: When site staff were instructed to install the Alexa toolbar or extension. I don't put much value on its rankings, personally.
  7. I don't have a perpetual license, but I also agree with this.
  8. Great addition to the forum software. I look forward to being able to use it.
  9. They have to verify every purchase manually, and the people who do that usually aren't in over the weekend. It will probably be taken care of tomorrow.
  10. There already is a report button in conversations, if you've set it up.
  11. Something other people have already touched on, but I think you guys have unintentionally created a built-in shoutbox with this.
  12. Personally, I prefer the non-animated variants.
  13. In my skin contest entries, I solved this by moving the statistics into the sidebar. That way the online users/calendar/birthdays can all stretch all the way across, no mess.
  14. - Put backwards question mark from other language/charset in post title - Watch things go screwy ؟- ???؟
  15. reloaded page = ads reload and register additional page view = additional revenue for pay-per-view ads. It has absolutely nothing to do with topic view count statistics. In my experience forums are horrible for generating ad revenue in the first place, but to each his own I suppose.
  16. From what I remember of previous discussions, that white skin was one of half a dozen or so mockups that were done early on... the default skin is the only one that was ever actually finished.
  17. The bump mod is a feature I've been asking to be incorporated for years. Thanks for making a hook of it, tera.
  18. I don't know all the nitty and gritty about actually doing it, but the FURL implementation in IPB is very customizable. I imagine someone else can give you more pointers for actually making those changes, but much of that can be done with very little effort.
  19. Would be a pretty late lunch in Virginia. Big changes like this take time, though; you want to make sure as little goes wrong as possible.
  20. looks fine to me... the only reason it looks like crap is that it's word wrapping on pretty much every line. which, admittedly, is not the best situation. Would perhaps be better if the editor were wider and the font slightly smaller [and an option to disable word wrap?].
  21. With the new system in IPB 3, the vast majority of modifications never need to touch IPB's files at all--so updating the board isn't going to overwrite them.

    Activity Feed

A similar thing [user activity feed] was in one of the early betas, but it relied on the search index which was too resource-intensive, and disappeared along with that. Whether it will come back at some point is yet to be seen.
