Apologies if I am requesting something that already exists, but if it does, I really cannot find the setting for it.
It would be great to allow guests to view images at a smaller size, but when they click on them to view full size, ask them to login/signup.
I know vbulletin has this as this feature has made me register to several vbulletin sites in the past!
It would be great to save on bandwidth from guests (but without blocking their access to topics entirely) but also give an extra incentive for registering.
    Thanks.

It absolutely should not do this, as it should not do what it does now. It should be configurable at the application level by the administrator.
For some communities, how it works now is perfect. For certain communities depending on how they use applications (as is the case with Downloads on this community, but not all), the administrator here should set the default for the Downloads app to be app first, unless end user picks "everywhere" from the scope selector.
Adding granularity at the application level to set a default search context increases flexibility and user understanding.
I say all this knowing that for our community, I'd keep it on a global search. But I possess the critical thinking skills necessary to know that one shoe does not fit all.

I just use google custom search engine for our site as default.  And basically hide the built in search except for a tiny link that calls it "advanced search".

    Hello,
I would like to associate the groups with the clubs. For example, if a member is in the VIP group and wants to enter a club that is private, the VIP member will not have to wait for the owner to accept him, he is accepted automatically. Another example if you have a shop the member who buys a product can be invited in a specific Club without the owner having to validate his entry, it will be necessary to provide the notion of banned member of the Club.
In the CP-Admin Club Settings advanced options:
Groupes (XYZ): Can not see any clubs Groupes (XYZ): It is automatically enrolled in this club. Groupes (XYZ): It is automatically excluded in this club. Groupes (XYZ): Can see the content without being registered in Club + can say that this is for a limited period of time (once, days...) Groupes (XYZ): Can be registered without human intervention in Club

Oh, hundreds. But! Here's two to start:
Setting up a local dev and test copy of IPS. Bonus points if you build it in a virtualized/containerized way. This is the basis of everything one needs to develop new templates/plugins/applications/translations/etc., and test things out without running the risk of impacting their production community. Building a public facing feature request tracker for IPS using Pages. Collect votes from customers on utility of a feature, commenting, status/roadmaps, etc. Exactly. This is something that has no reason to be arduous, so as you find the pain points, you can identify where there are gaps in the documentation, leverage your relationships with IPS developers, and fill in the gaps with a guide that other customers will be able to follow step by step and it won't feel so insurmountable.

You guys receives a lot of feedback from others admins.
People likes histories about success. I´d love to read, for example, how some guys used Clubs to create microcommunities... Thats kind of things are inspiring as well as informative

UPDATE downloads_files_records SET column=REPLACE(column, 'https://xyz.old.com', 'https://xyz.new.com'); Take a backup first, add your SQL table prefix to the table name if applicable, and adjust "column" appropriately. Also, it goes without saying, adjust the old and new URLs appropriately.

We will def have development updates for you guys! We were thinking of creating more bite-sized content that includes updates so you're in the loop more frequently. For example instead of waiting for a blog post with 10 development updates, we create a string of Topics here in the forum for you guys to sink your teeth into.
As for the changed support system, that is an exxcceellenntt idea. Noted!! 🙏

You could write up about the lamentable help guides which are anything but helpful to those wanting to learn how things work in the IPS arsenal.  For example, there are very few real-world examples of 'how to' - to further this look at custom fields, there is a brief look but no real examples of how you would put those custom fields to use in templates, in various locations and uses etc.  Anyone wanting to learn would need to understand (or be experts) in PHP, HTML, etc when all they want is to add a custom field in a forum, or pages, or a blog.

Additional points that were super confusing to a new person in this community involving Marketplace and search. I think this may be what @MEVi is running into:
Use the term "Marketplace" everywhere. It's great that IPS uses their own product, but it's completely lost on a new person that "Marketplace" is "Downloads." ACP > Translate those strings, so that when I'm doing a search my brain doesn't have to think, no wait.. downloads. In Marketplace, when performing a search, the search box doesn't default to Marketplace results. This is counterintuitive. Might be a nice feature to provide an administrator option to have quicksearch prioritize the context in which it is called from. If you're in gallery, then search gallery only by default unless specified, or offer a radio box in the drop down upon typing (not the full list when you hit the magnifying glass icon) to quickly choose current context or all, i.e.:  [x] Gallery [ ] Entire Community [more...] Provide a place for me to send invoices for all these valuable tips. 😁

    Hello,

Could you allow developers to put TAGs because it's not very easy to find a specific product for blogs or forums? Or maybe add a multiple choice so that the developer can say that his product is for blogs IP-Downloads,... , that it offers an admin interface...

    Some thoughts:
I've been watching the IPS forums for many, many years and I've seen an average of 2 year turntime from product suggestion to product implementation.  For most suggestions in the IPS forums, they ignore.   IPS gets feedback from many sources, including enterprise clients and managed clients -- you know, people who pay more money than you.   When you have zero expectations, you're always surprised!

MEVi reacted to Thomas Emme in IPS 4.5.4: InnoDB tables are using Compact row format...
Update: Success. Previous "compact" tables are now showing as "dynamic".
I entered the following as an SQL query through PHPMyAdmin:
SELECT table_name, table_schema, ROW_FORMAT FROM information_schema.tables WHERE engine = 'InnoDB' AND TABLE_SCHEMA = '<YOUR DATABASE NAME>' AND ROW_FORMAT = 'COMPACT' ... then opened a new window to the same DB SQL query page, and copied the following query (adjusting the <compact_table_name> as needed :
ALTER TABLE <compact_table_name> ROW_FORMAT=DYNAMIC; After doing this one at a time for the half-dozen or so entries I had to work on, I re-ran the original query (to identify compact row_formats) and came up with nothing.
Edit: And the Administrator Notification pointing to "compact" row_format issues, is gone.
