You can enable Twitter cards by going to AdminCP > System > Settings> General Configuration and enter your sites Twitter handle in the box

I think you may have missed the point. Configuring it to the extent of activating it is not a problem. It's a question of then making slight modifications in the code and he doesn't know where to go to do that. That was my problem a long time ago – and I eventually found it on my own – and now I can't remember where it is

  2. I have simply recommended that people look through this support topic and make up their own minds on the level of support and also the smooth running of this plug-in.

It's up to them to make their own judgements.

You're clearly very upset about it

Our Webmaster thinks it is a missing code function

I have no idea what that means – but we need some help please.

In respect of our keyword application:

I'm very pleased to say that after a lot of work from the developer, it seems that a couple of flaws may have been discovered – but the application has now been updated and installed and everything looks as if it's working very well.

Thank you for the help from @CodingJungle on this.

  4. Hi, I'm afraid I think we need some urgent help.

I upgraded the test site to your conversion version 3.2 without any problem and then upgraded it to 3.2.6 also without any problem and it's working very well on the test site.

I then went to try and perform the same series of upgrades on the live site and although the keywords appear to work – and those going to external links work perfectly, keywords which are being directed to material within the forum are producing this message:

I think somebody else has had this problem in the past.

We need an urgent fix please – if you could let us know what to do or maybe have a look at it yourself. Thanks

they are in the wrong format. originally they were stored in a comma delimited list, now they are stored as a json array (one of the updates converted them, but i don't recall which one).  i'll write you up a conversion script and test it on the database you sent me.

    That would be brilliant.

That would explain the problem. I may have carried out an upgrade I'm missing a step so but the database was never converted. That would mean that if I could tell you which version I've got installed on the live site , if you were able even just to give me a copy of the the next version which actually carry out the conversion, then we would be good to go for the rest.

In fact I've just checked and our live site is using 3.1.8 which is working fine. on the basis of what you say if we move directly to 3.2.6 we would be missing out on the necessary conversion step and so the whole thing would fall over again.

If you could let us know which version included the conversion routine and let us have a copy then everything might start working.

They might not even be any need to write a conversion script

  6. I'm sorry it's just too much effort. When we pay our money, we expect to have an application in reasonable condition and fairly well supported. That's not happening here. I've been running a big forum for 15 years and I'm very used to getting third-party applications and I understand about the quality of support I can expect.

I'm going to let it go.

You won't give me a refund – there's nothing I can do about it – but if you have any sense of "what is right" you you should take the money and give it to somebody connected with the George Floyd issue as a charitable gift.
I'm sure they will need it more than you do.

  7. Here is part of an entry from the keyword database which we copied over to the new 3.2.6 installation on our test site

You can see that there are two aliases here – but neither of them are picked up by the application.

Hi, I've got the files and I'm going to send them to you. Please let me know if that's what you want – or if there is anything missing. Thanks

hi, I don't know if you have seen my message – but there has been a development with the keywords application.

I bit the bullet with our test site and uninstalled the whole thing – and then reinstalled the latest version 3.2.6. Of course the entire database of keywords was lost. We then copied in the up-to-date keyword database from the live site – I sent you a copy by p.m.

To my amazement, all of the keywords started working – but only the principal word – the subject word. None of the aliases would work – and in fact when you look at each keyword entry, none of the aliases are visible. They don't seem to have been uploaded – or at least your application hasn't recognised them. If I then go on to add aliases, they work fine.

So the situation now is that it seems that we are able to get the latest version of your application working if we uninstall completely, then install from new the latest version and then the keyword database.

Our only problem now is that we have about 130 or so keywords – but probably about 400 aliases – so it's a big job to restore them all manually.

Any ideas why it might not be picking up the aliases?

    Thanks

Sadly, I think this is a pattern with Makoto. He has periods where he is very active, extremely helpful in all topics and when he is active it is obvious he is one of the most knowledgeable people about the IPS platform and server management. Sadly, these periods of activity are followed by total disappearance, which noone knows how long is it going to take.

I am sure if he has the time he can make the app first class, but in the current state I wouldn't recommend buying it.

I'm working on fixing some of the bugs mentioned here right now and will have a maintenance release ready by Friday. After that you should see some new feature releases coming over the next week or two.

I apologize for the delays in communication and activity!

Not sure how active he is. I've asked questions a few posts up and no sign of life. I've actually had issues so for now the app is disabled. Disappointed considering the strong language of how this app would be so much better than the 'other' one. Oh well, wait and see...

Hey Kooper, I'm sorry for the delay! I'll look into this for you and let you know as soon as I have more information.

Hey @USS, I'm looking into this for you now, my apologies for the delay!

@jp this app is still being developed, I'm working on pushing out more updated between custom work and other projects right now but I should have some things ready soon!

Any news? I didn't saw this as an issue in your tracker!? We still have to deactivate this app before editing mod-rights...

    Hey Ernest,

My apologies! It seems I forgot to actually add this to the issues tracker so it ended up slipping my mind. I've added it as a milestone for the next release now however, and it will definitely be included in 1.8.0 which I'll try and push out in the next week, along with a few other updates.

Sorry again and thank you for your patience!

  10. Well I think you're quite wrong on your position in respect of a refund. It is clear that the application is buggy and it's been like that for a long time.

Anyway, if you think you can resolve it then I'd be grateful if you would do that – but without any more delays. I'm sorry to take a harsh line on this but looking at this thread, I would say that your support of your customers generally has been patchy.

Please could you let me know when you can access the site and I will alter your user rights to give you the access you need.

I have to say that if I'd known the difficulties this application was going to cause and if I had realised in advance the level of support and general attitude, then I would never have bought the application.

Our forum exists on the generosity of hard-pressed, debtladen individuals – and they don't give us their money to be thrown away.

  11. Hi, I'm afraid that we still getting issues. The ATP has been completely uninstalled but your radical tags application is still causing problems and I posted a screenshot of it on Friday.

I'm afraid that I think that the whole thing is just too buggy for us at the moment. When I look through this thread, I see that it is plainly people reporting bugs and problems which are being sorted out bit by bit – and of course I accept that that is quite normal for an application – but am afraid that I'm running a large forum which doesn't make very much money and the whole thing is causing me too many difficulties.

I'm contacting you by private message about a refund.

I'd be very happy to tried again at some point – maybe after the big Invision upgrade which is predicted for later this year. That also worries me because there may be other applications or plug-ins which need upgrading – so I'm looking for a smoother ride as possible.

I'm sorry to say but I have a feeling that radical tags is really still in beta – but I'll keep an eye on its development and on the posts in this thread.

if you could send me the keywords_words database table, so i could take a look at it to see if anything is wrong with it. i would be able to find out a lot more from it, than taking a look at your dev/test site. feel free to PM here or on my site with the kw table export.

Hi, I've got the files and I'm going to send them to you. Please let me know if that's what you want – or if there is anything missing. Thanks

  13. Of course I didn't understand a single word you just said – but I will pass it on to the Webmaster.

Some time ago I suggested a feature to you which was to have an import/export button in the application so that if one wanted to take a copy and move it to a different forum or simply keep it as a backup, one could do it very easily.

    ???

  15. Thanks for all of this. Of course I'm very sorry that you've been ill – but while we didn't know, it really seemed as if there was no support anymore.

At the same time, I have a very busy forum to administer and am trying desperately to keep it up-to-date and working as well as possible. It's very difficult.

I've double checked again and I don't know why but I thought that we were running your keywords version 2 . something but actually it was 3.1.7  . That was working very well. Then eventually I upgraded it to 3.2.6 – but at 3.2.5 it wouldn't work any more – as reported above. I've actually just tried to go back to 3.1.7 and now that has stopped working as well. As I said before, if you make new auto links then they work – but the existing ones don't work. Although, I've noticed that there are one or two exceptions and a few of the old ones work and I can't discern any pattern to it at all.

On the live site we are on 3.1.8 which is working perfectly – but I would like to upgrade it – partly to get the extra functionality – but also because I'm very frightened that when Invision has their big upgrade quite soon, that we may have a keyword system which doesn't work at all and as I have explained before, we have come to rely on your application very heavily.

I wonder whether you might find the time to visit our test site and to have a look and see if you can understand what is going on.

I've just tried to upgrade again from 3.1.7 to your latest version and are now getting an error message image.thumb.png.9da64a19ae14431caa7a424a8b2caaa9.png

and it won't upgrade at all so now I'm stuck on the old version on the test site which scarcely works.

Do you have the time to have a look?

By the way, before I downgraded it again to 3.1.7 I tried the adjustments which you have suggested in your diagram above – and they didn't work for us

  16. I just noticed that you have published a new version – so presumably it hasn't been abandoned. I've downloaded and installed 3.2.6 onto our test site – and it still won't operate the links which were created under version 2 . something.

We still need some support please
