    Hi @HeadStand,
the issue with the content is also fixed running the support tool. Maybe it was because I already installed an older version of the newsletter.
Everything is working now, but I get complains that the unsubscribe link doesn't work. Actually testing it myself it works. But when clicking on unsubscribe not beeing logged into the board, it will redirect to the main page.
Would it be possible to show a confirmation message or redirecting to a special page when clicking on unsubscribe?
Best regards and thank you for this great App

I did run the first one and also set the comments to 1: it ran in under 1 second and worked like it should.
But you are right: this setting should be set by default for new members.

$10 is the price I judge fair for waste my time to learn and release those things. $5 to you is $4 to me, after pay tax and fee to IPS. So no, for $4 I prefer to listen some music and drink one beer.
You can always learn or request a free resource in proper forum.

Gnuru reacted to Durango in New feature : Post BEFORE Register !
    Hi
There is a great feature on some large boards, often boards belonging to large companies
They allow visitors to post and only at the end require username & email to perform the registration
Many visitors would never register first and then post, they directly post with a form, and discover at the end they have to provide username & email to have their post submitted, so they accept to give those informations
This is very powerful, and i was hoping to see this on IPS 4, maybe it is available and i didnt see it ?
You must have seen this many times on the web, an example here on a french website :

I have seen that tag cloud is using the template system, so I was able to add the ips_break class there:
        {{if ( $displayMode == 'cloud' )}}         <div class='ipsPad_half ipsWidget_inner ipsStyle_center ipsType_break'>             {{foreach $tags as $tag => $info}}

If you want to alter existing members, you can run the SQL query
UPDATE core_members SET auto_track='{"content":1,"comments":0,"method":"immediate"}'; but please be aware that doing so will overwrite any previous settings that they might have. If you only want to change it if they haven't changed the setting themself, you could use
UPDATE core_members SET auto_track='{"content":1,"comments":0,"method":"immediate"}' WHERE auto_track='0' OR auto_track=''; instead. Disclaimer: I haven't actually run these queries, but I think they should work. I would recommend using an offline tool to run them because they will probably take a long time to run.

I do feel you may just have very different expectations. As others have pointed out here, we do provide good support. Sure we sometimes make mistakes but we do try to serve all our clients. Take your most recent ticket for example:
You submitted ticket: 20 January 2016 - 02:31 AM IPS staff replied: 20 January 2016 - 02:38 AM (7 minutes later - we were asking for more information) You replied: 20 January 2016 - 02:41 AM You replied again: 20 January 2016 - 02:43 AM You replied again: 20 January 2016 - 03:05 AM You replied again: 20 January 2016 - 03:47 AM (it was at this point you become unhappy in the ticket - 1 hour and 16 minutes in) IPS staff replied: 20 January 2016 - 04:54 AM (at this point we were very confused what was going on) You replied: 20 January 2016 - 05:31 AM IPS staff replied: 20 January 2016 - 05:47 AM You replied: 20 January 2016 - 05:56 AM You replied: 20 January 2016 - 06:04 AM IPS Staff replied: 20 January 2016 - 06:26 AM We never heard from you so IPS staff again replied as a follow up: 22 January 2016 - 03:29 AM We have not received any replies from you since 20 January 2016 - 06:04 AM. From the time the ticket was opened to the last we heard from you just 3 hours and 35 minutes elapsed. I personally feel that's very good support.
I am extremely confused why you chose to post this topic rather than simply replying to our staff so they can further assist you. In the time you took to type out this post we probably could have resolved your problems. If you are still having issues please do reply to us as we have not heard from you since 20 January at 6:04am and we're now well over two days past that. We stand ready to assist you

We would like new members to have the default set to "Receive notifications" on Topics they start as well as topics the reply in. How do we set that.
The opposite is the default now.
We prefer they be able to remove those setting if they want rather than having to opt-in on those aspects. Most never realize they can opt-in.

Gnuru reacted to nodle in My upgrade feedback - Xenforo to IPB 4
I thought I would leave some feedback here also. Seems like there is so much hate with the new version of IPB 4. I just came from the latest version of Xenforo back to IPB. Now a lot of people have been asking me why. I have even had people on here PMing me on here asking if I am crazy. Seem like most people are converting the opposite way. But I like a lot of new things they have done with IPB 4. I first have to convert into the 3.4.8 version before going to 4. It was a little bit of work but got everything imported in expect Member's passwords. Not to big of a deal. Now the upgrade to 4 could had been a little more clear, but thanks to some Members here on this board I got it figured out and was able to get it upgraded. The only thing not really working at the moment is the whole Youtube video thing which @Lindy has spoken about and is gonna try to fix. I have a ticket in for it and @Rhett is looking into. Once this is take care of and they re-appear again I will be all the way happy. Alot of people complain because it doesn't have a lot of advance features in the ACP, but honestly sometime you can get confused. I would get so confused with the permissions for member groups etc. IPB has them simplified and easy to understand. Another great feature is the support built into the ACP. I love how it creates an admin user for you automatically so support can log in and then you can delete afterwards. This is an amazing feature! I hated having to create a Admin user in Xenforo and it was a hassle where I didn't even want to submit a ticket. This is also great for support to be able to help people that may not be as knowledgeable as others. I for one love the new activity feed also. Plus skins were never my favorite with Xenforo. You have a couple of great skin makers over there but alot of them are starting to lack in support and releases. With IPB you also have @ehren. skin's and support. I know IPB has some bugs right now but I am sure they will be fixed in time. I can't wait to try the auto update feature on the next release. So far I am enjoying it so far and still poking around with some features and am looking to more features being added in the future. Just get the Youtube video issues fixed and I will be happy. So keep up the great work with IPB guys after every release it's getting better and better!

Gnuru reacted to Lindy in IPS4 Feature Plan
We know you guys liked the feature plan -- and we felt it was neat too; it's not something others really do. We need to regroup on it, however. If you look at the 4.1 release notes, you'll find much of the coming soon was completed -- other items were pushed back, but some items that were planned further out were pushed up and rolled into 4.1.
I know I say this so much it becomes a broken record, but IPS4 wasn't just a rewrite - it was a complete rethink and reshape of how we approach communities. Admittedly, it was a bold and risky move; but we're happy we did so and the plan is materializing quite nicely. It is not, however, without disadvantage. Priorities are ever-changing... what we planned on next year, we've already done. As a result, other things we were planning on "soon" are pushed back until next year. Additionally, there's a few things we've re-evaluated and determined they will take more time, but can be done better or an opportunity we can use to incorporate multiple suggestions.
There's also the point that here at IPS, anything you say can and will be used against you. We said we anticipated a release of IPS4.1 in October. A holdback to push through more bugs and updates held the release until November. We weren't even through October before the "you said October, lying evil jerks!" topics came up. The roadmap led to a barrage of support tickets and topics consisting of "will this be in 4.1 or 4.2? what will it do? should I buy a third party app or wait?" We want to involve our client base in the software production as much as possible -- it's fun, it gives you an opportunity to be a part of it and often, our ideas evolve based on that participation. At the same time, we discovered simply sharing our plans wasn't sufficient for many. We can't spend our day fielding "this should be 'coming soon' - this is critical for our community!", "are we talking 1 month, 3 months, 6 months???", "why would you even have that on there when there's so many other things to do?", "when you do this, could you do ... that?" Sometimes, there really is such a thing as too much information and too much discussion. Beyond the element of surprise and wow factor, curbing competitors garnering too much information, etc... sometimes it's just an outright distraction to open the curtains to the inside too much in a commercial environment.
With that said - don't worry. We intend to do far more frequent blog entries to detail our plans and I'm quite sure we can come up with something for the "coming soon" section. Again, it just became somewhat irrelevant with 4.1 and we've not had an opportunity to revisit it. The rest of this year is going to be spent on performance, stability, third party improvements, etc. and we'll hit the ground running with more "cool stuff" in early '16.
I was making a habit of trying to go through as many topics as possible with more information as it becomes available. I've been a bit distracted personally, but will make an effort to try and do more of that.

Gnuru reacted to MOC in Improvement to 4.0 ads coming? Header and "first thread" ads throw off sidebar.
Adding an ad unit to either the "just below header" or "after first thread" or "after first post" throw off the sidebar, forcing it off the page and making the site look lopsided, instead of the main column responding, and shrinking in size to accommodate the ad and the side bar.
    Really odd... Any fixes?
