@A Zayed Can you tell me what this plugin was or who made it? It sounds like what I need but unfortunately I cant see it anymore.
-
@stoo2000 thanks very much, i'll give the WP route a go.
Yes it would be helpful to have the capability in a future version of the SSO plugin, you've got my vote for that.
-
@stoo2000 Ok thank you, is there any way around that if we need to sign in as a member to test an issue without switching off the sso plugin?
-
Hi there,
I have just realised that apparently admins should have the ability to "sign in as" any of the users of the forum. I don't seem to have this option available to me for some reason. Do you have any idea why that might be?
From what I can tell it should be an option on their profile in Admin CP correct?
-
@Stuart Silvester thank you, I will try that, we don't have guests so didn't have it switched on.
For your information, we have people on our site that are essentially providing a service in return for self promotion to our members. Having a signature visible under their posts is important for them but I understand what you're saying with regards to the clutter.

Ok, that's a shame, thank you for the offer, I'll have a think and get in touch.
-
@Adriano Faria thanks for the link to the plugin. We needed the same thing for the signature viewing default option.
Do you have or know of a way to bulk update the preferences for users that have already been created?
-
I've just realised that since some time in 2017 the option for our members to view other peoples signatures has been defaulted to "off" and it appears to be a user level setting.
We use signatures quite a bit and would like to have this switched on as the default, is there any way to do this? Or do we have an issue with it being switched off as default?
-
Just as an update, this didn't solve our issue either. We've left the miniOrange OAuth plugin for now and returned to what we used previously.
-
@Nathan Explosion We didn't have a constants.php file. I created one using these instructions which just looks like:
<?php define( 'COOKIE_PREFIX', 'yihcookie_' );
It looks like I was automatically logged back in again after this by the oauth setup I think?
I will keep an eye on it to see if users are still having issues now.

Hi Marc,
Thanks for the info. We have users that are generally not very tech savvy and giving them instructions like that causes a lot of confusion. If there is any possible way you can think of getting around having them perform manual steps like this it would be good to know.
-
We have changed from using this SSO plugin to using the the MiniOrange SSO to link between Wordpress and Invision.
We are having issues with users who were logged in during the switchover, everyone else is fine. They can access WordPress but when they try to go to Invision they get a too many redirects error.
We have logged everyone out of WordPress and also used the button in Invision to log all users out, but I don't think that actually worked. People are still getting the issue.
The only way it seems to resolve is by going to an incognito window or a device they have never used before and logging in that way. Is there any other way to get around this without getting everyone to take these manual steps?
We're getting this system log.

@DawPi Thanks, looks like it's working in our test site.
-
I've responded again and haven't got an automated rejection email yet so I'm guessing it went through. Thanks @Marc Stridgen

There is currently the ability to have a single sign-on by OAuth. We use this with our WordPress site. However, there is currently no ability for a single sign-out. I'm not sure why this is, if a single sign-on is implemented then surely a single sign-out is also required?
-
I think this successful registration email is not always necessary so it should be optional.
We use invision as a community addon to our wordpress membership site via SSO. We already have more sophisticated welcome emails and the ones from Invision are unnecessary.
-
If you find it and can share it would be much appreciated.
-
Yes, I am replying to the original email thread.
-
@Nathan Explosion Is this plugin no longer available? Is there an alternative?
-
I tried to previously but I got an auto-reply to post here because I'm a self hosting customer.
-
Yes, exactly, we have thousands of tags so scrolling through them isn't very user friendly.
-
@Adriano Faria Is there any plan for pagination of the most used tags results? Or some sort of filtering or a-z jumping?
-
Hi there, I spoke to someone on a ticket, we couldn't recreate the issue and assumed it wasn't present anymore but needed to clean the database manually of all the old tags.
Now that I've done that I've done some more testing myself and I can see an issue that's still present and may be causing tags to still be in the table with no related post. After I use the moderator actions to delete a post, the tags from that post are still shown in the database.
An example of tags are "2025" and "2026". I added these to two separate posts and then used the moderator actions to delete the posts but they are still present in the database.

I would very much like this feature to be added too for the same reasons as everyone else has mentioned. I don't see why you wouldn't implement it.
I don't think you need to be posting all the time to get these notifications either, you just have to be following a popular topic.
