Charles got a reaction from Pescao6 in Enhanced Services Add-on
Many clients need to integrate with external platforms. They might have a website or some sort of client login system. It's actually our most common customization we do 🙂

We have soft launched this service at $129/month plus an implementation fee that varies a bit based on needs. We will post more information soon!

Charles got a reaction from gmg1167 in Enhanced Services Add-on
We are getting many requests from clients looking for extra services from us. We are developing a enhanced services add-on package that we hope would do that. This would be a monthly addition to your current package plus an initial setup fee. Right now the inclusions being considered are:
Custom SSO setup Ongoing SSO maintenance Theme design Ongoing theme design maintenance 2 onboarding Zooms 2 Zooms per year Priority email support Second package for use as a staging site. Ability to duplicate live site to staging. Private forum on community for direct Q&As and previews with us. Pricing is not yet firmed up but we were thinking in the range of $100 - $200 per month as an addon fee as you are getting quite a lot with the service.
Any thoughts or feedback? Obviously this is not for everyone but just thought I would see general impressions. Even if you are not personally interested please feel free to let me know if you think there is value here. Thanks!

We hope to provide a preview pretty soon. For our first release we are going to keep this pretty simple and then get feedback from clients on how you want it to evolve.

Charles got a reaction from SecondSight in Courses and Lessons
We are currently in the beginning stages of developing a Courses and Lessons application within Invision Community. This will only be available on our cloud services as a value addition.
We receive regular requests for Learning Management System (LMS) capabilities in Invision Community and the Courses app will start us down that path.
The Courses app is not going to try to be a full LMS. Not trying to run a university here 🙂
But we do think there is value in offering basic LMS capabilities within a community context. Some features we are already doing:
Ability to create Courses with multiple Modules Modules can have multiple content items that a member can read/engage (articles, videos, discussions) Courses can be made optional or required. Required courses can be defined as "do this first" or literally required as in you must take course within X days of joining community. Badges/points awarded on various completion events. Reports for those who enroll and/or complete a Course. Reports can be exported to CSV. As this is early development we are open to ideas and suggestions.
How might you use Courses?
What capabilities would you want to see?

We deployed WebP support today for both US and EU regions.
This was honestly an oversight on our part and I want to thank @Dll for pointing out that WebP was not properly enabled.

We may bring Courses to Classic in the future. For the moment, Courses is a value addition to those on our cloud platform.

Charles got a reaction from David N. in Data Integrity Updates
This is one of those behind the scenes improvements that you do not know happen but we still like to tell people about.
All media that is uploaded to your community (images, videos, any sort of files) is now automatically replicated to a write-only backup within 5 minutes of upload. This means that backups of your media are basically continuous now.
This part is not new but as a review.... For databases, we have two levels of backups: daily and weekly. Our daily snapshots are for catastrophic recovery and are extremely robust as they are replicated internally. The weekly backups are what I call "convenience backups" which might sound strange but let me explain.
The weekly backups are not as robust as the daily snapshots but they are more easily restored. This allows our team to easily diagnose issues, assist you with recovering accidental deletions/configuration issues, and compare today to last week/month (we store several weeks for recovery purposes before old backups purge). We find having these two types of backups lets us be more agile in restoring service for both "major" events and "whoops" events.
As always with Invision Community, your data is your data. At any time you contact support and we can send you a full export of all community data for your archives.

This is unbelievably cool. Thank you Matt and IPS Team for this new feature (and thanks Apple In a way I guess).
I’ll be honest, I wasn’t really sure what all the options in the Icons & Logos / Manifest were all about (and I don’t touch Android so it’s benefits would have been wasted on me) so I just left it all alone. This has given me an opportunity to look into this more and offer a way for our community to stay more connected. Having a Home Screen app definitely helps lessen the pressure when dealing with competition via other platforms like Twitter and Facebook.
Thanks again!

US or EU either way we're not randomly downloading your data to our laptops and wandering around 😀
Anything we do need to do stays inside AWS systems.

Charles got a reaction from G17 Media in GDPR & EU Hosting - Third Country IPS Support
If you choose our EU option, all of your data is in the AWS Paris region.
It is possible one of our employees outside the EU can access the data if you submit a support ticket or something like that. But then that is no different than if you were traveling outside the EU and logged into your own AdminCP.
Even in that scenario, the data is still housed in the EU. Someone viewing your site from anywhere in the world (that's literally what the Internet is for 😀) has nothing to do with GDPR.

Charles reacted to Matt Finger in Coming Soon: Email Bounce Management
@Randy Calvert In this first go, the non-admin UI is minimal. It's just the nag Charles showed above, and yeah behind the scenes it will catch any email from being sent to them.
The Admins will be able to filter via the ACP to view all members with blocked emails
Additionally, these block records are saved so no one can use that email in the future (new accounts or existing) while it's blocked.

This new feature is now complete and will be in our May release. It will also be available on all Cloud plans. The previous post excluded the Beginner plan.
Expect a blog entry soon with details. In the meantime, if you have questions @Matt Finger can answer.
