  1. They do, but you shouldn't judge by what you see here on the forums alone. :) He could have a perpetual license and not require support, for instance. Or his client area account could be under a different email address.
  2. Modifications, by and large, shouldn't mess anything up. That's not to say none will, but I can't think of any off the top of my head that should.
  3. I am not of the opinion that one should enforce THEIR personal password systems upon others. I hate some of the sites I visit because you must have x number of chars and at least x must be letters or numbers and you must have x number of special characters - quite frankly it's my account and I should be the one concerned with whether it gets hacked or not (so long as I do not have some sort of elevated access). That said, as I said before, it wouldn't be difficult to add a setting for this.
  4. We don't actually retrieve the permissions directly (indeed I'm not sure if we can, though I haven't looked into it much). We simply check if writable directories/files are infact writable.
  5. If you are experiencing bugs you should report them to the bug tracker. As of the last time I checked, there were not any really big issues, nor any issues affecting many people, so I'm not entirely sure what you are referring to. :)
  6. Indeed, that's exactly what it does. ;)
  7. Please use the peer to peer support forums for support, and the bug tracker for bugs.
  8. For the record, if you are insistent upon paying for 3.x separate from your license I can forward you my paypal email. I don't mind, really. /jk
  9. Birthdays are not shown in the RSS export.
  10. For peer-to-peer support, please use the peer to peer support forums. :)
  11. Cookies should have no relation to the skin. I don't know what you are saying is the problem there. The other sounds like a bug possibly. You should report it.
  12. You should post that sort of question in the peer to peer forum.
  13. There's no setting for the minimum password length. Wouldn't be too hard to add one in the future.
  14. I'd report it as a skin bug
  15. To answer your question, there is no multi-subscribe presently (however there is a setting to subscribe users to all forums in the ACP settings you might be able to use). Moving to the suggestions forum for your other suggestion.
  16. That is the plan. The original goal was to have it ready for RC1, but we didn't want to hold up RC1 for the majority of our customers who don't need subscription manager.
  17. Subscription manager is still under development. It's getting close, but we decided not to hold up RC1 for subscription manager. Subs manager will be released separately later.
  18. admin/applications/forums/extensions/furlTemplates.php
  19. I answered your topic in the other forum as well. Yes, you will be able to upgrade from RC1 up through final.
  20. I know Jason and Matt have been working on it, with the help of a customer who uses IPB + MSSQL and has the proficiency to assist with debugging. It is coming along, but is not ready for release just yet.
  21. It's the normal forum RSS import functionality. Nothing specific to blog. :) I think the task runs every few hours, or at least once a day. And, for the record (now that RC1 is released) we weren't even a week over our estimate. We did the best we could in estimating how long it would take - give us some slack lol.
  22. The blog post is pretty clear on this matter. We will not upgrade your board to RC1. If you require us to upgrade your board for you, while there is no charge, we will not do so until the final version of IP.Board 3.0 is released.
  23. If we were to find another way to handle the search index, then yes. We might be able to figure something out. Alternatively, the resource hit would be a lot less if you were using Sphinx. So someone could create a modification to handle this if the user is using Sphinx I suppose. Because of the resource implications, it's doubtful we will add such functionality in the near future I'm afraid. We have customers will millions upon millions of posts and the software should work just as well for them as it does for the boards with a few hundred posts.
  24. You can do that in the skin easily. We generally try to avoid adding settings to rearrange stuff in the skin - that's what the template editor is for.
