For some reason, i cannot get Dailymotion videos to work. I've set up daily motion in the Media Sites as follows: Site Name: Daily Motion Host URL: dailymotion.com Example URL: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xp14wz_hjernevask-brainwashing-english-part-7-nature-vs-nurture_news oEmbed URL: http://www.dailymotion.com/services/oembed But i still get the error " Problem generating embed code. " I've looked at the Daily motion Oembed Specifications here: https://developer.dailymotion.com/player#player-oembed What's wrong?

I've just installed the 4.x version as an update, every feedback was successfuly imported from previous versions (and i have about +1700), everything is good and up, except leaving feedback. I've seen that it just works with a forum topic addresss. But as i am using a Pages database for the classifieds app. So when i try to save the feedback with that address, it just gives me an EX0 error. Wouldn't it be better just to allow any address? Excluding this, the app seems excellent as always. Nice work.

That was true for IPS 3.4.x, but i suppose not anymore for 4.x. I tried at the time to convert to utf8mb4 as i was using windows server, but i had the problem of the indexes length. At the time, ips told me that 3.4.x did not support utf8mb4. As ips4 supports it, there won't be any trouble.

The thing we have to think is: "is that so important to use emojis that they worth converting to utf8mb4?" Even some browsers cannot display them properly! If your site runs fine and you do not need emojis, do not convert to utf8mb4: there are also some disadvantages to it also, like the increased database space, inherent to the use of 4 byte character encoding. The full UTF8 implementation needs 4 bytes for some characeters, it's true. But if see the table of the 4-byte characters, i doubt you use them. In a normal UTF8 use, 99.99% of the caracters used are 1, 2 or 3 bytes. According to my experience, Utf8mb4 is a must for the fellows using Windows Server and IIS, because it will solve many character conversion problems arising from the odd php implementation on windows.

OK, so i'll update right from 3.4.5 instead of losing time doing the 3.4.5 to 3.4.7 conversion and then to 4.0... ​Me too! Indeed i was one of the guys that had some trouble as i tried utf8mb4 (i've just moved to centOS now but previously, it seemed that php in windows server 2012 seemed favor utf8mb4 somehow despite iPB not supporting it.. i had to disable punctuated logins in order to everything run smoothly with just UTF-8).

Two questions: 1) Is it possible to update from 3.4.5 to 4.0? 2) Is UTF-8 the default charset encoding in 4.0, or UTF-8 MB4? (I already have the database in UTF-8 encoding since years ago.. not sure if i need to encode it to utf8mb4..) Thanks

There is a hook included in the package which does it. Search for it in the hook section in ACP and activate it!

Was anyone able to get this working and can share the settings? I have set the crawler access, it can access the site properly, nevertheless it says i have to have my site verified with Webmaster Tools, which i do have (with all methods). Despite that it says it failed to verify site ownership. Scratching my head about this...

I had one request to add a feedback over a classifieds ad which is no longer available. Is there any way to add the feedback without the link without inserting it on the database? If i may insert it in the database, i only need to add the entry on one table, right? I am afraid it may cause consistence problems.

Sometime after upgrading to the last version, a hook, the Editor Thems from Tom Christian (basicaly a ckeditor replacement) stopped working within the next 2-3 hours, so i had an error which prevented me to open any topic or post. They look very good, definitely the transparent pointing shape makes them quite good looking. A bit smaller they would be perfect, even though i think they look pretty good right now.
