  1. Pickems X is an app which allows members to predict who will win sports games. You can break a pickem down into weeks, with games for each week, or you can disable weeks and keep adding games to the contest overall. The member with the most correct picks wins the contest. Some other features currently included: optional tiebreaker when determining the winner, allow members to predict ties/draws, set the system to use either the word tie or draw, enter a result of canceled for its result to not count one way or the other, reminder notifications sent close to the start of each week/contest, and more. I have the system prepared for some future features, as well, such as allowing for more than 1 point for some games and career stats, which I didn't have time to get in yet.
  2. yeah, sorry about that. I really did want to get it done long, long ago. I was mainly posting, though, to tell how to get enough of it removed where this one will work, but then realized you already did it.
  3. I made the old one (got slowed up finishing it for 4.x and haven't yet released publicly.) More than likely it will be a bit involved undoing it because I think this app uses the same app key. edit: Oh I realize now you said you already got this other one installed, so you must have done what you need to. For others, I think mainly you just need to delete the row in the core_applications table that has tournaments for app_key and then I think when installing this app you can set it to automatically dropt ables that have the same named, but you might as well just drop/delete all tournaments tables beforehand. It probably won't hurt much leaving the lang but rows or setting rows. Also, the members table had some columns added, which don't have to be dropped, but could be. In my 4.x one I moved them to a new table. Would obviously be easier to use an uninstaller, but since I haven't publicly released a 4.x version yet, there wouldn't be a way to do it that way yet.
  4. What I think would be nice is if IPS were to add a check for the latest version confirmed by the authors to work. They have ability for us to have a file checked as to whether the version of our apps is the latest, if it also could check the latest confirmed (by the author, obviously IPS can't confirm themselves on each file) IPB version it is working with, that would make things much easier for customers wondering.
  5. someone just told me that IPS had said there will be some once it is stable. I don't guess I'm necessarily in a hurry, since I've so far only updated private ones and those clients won't use 4.4 soon, most likely. Still, I feel better when I know I have something ready. 🙂 I don't think 4.3 affected me any, so I'm hoping 4.4 changes won't affect me much.
  6. I can't even find anything documenting any changes third party devs can or must make for 4.4. If it's in contributor forum, I don't have access. Dev docs on here has no new docs for 4.4, but there's a warning that third party apps may not be compatible with 4.4, so clearly there are some things we may need to change.
  7. Another one I have done something similar on, but falls into the same thing I said on a roster app request topic, where I'm having to figure out what I am allowed to do for a public app.
  8. I wondered if this would be made. I remember seeing such an app for 3.x and had no idea if it had already been made for 4.x or not.
  9. Off topic, but I was on a site a few days ago that has nearly 50 million posts! I would have been happy if I could ever get a forum with 100 posts per month. That's how pathetic mine were. lol.
  10. As for not knowing if a third party app will work on a particular version, that is one area IPS should figure a way to make more simple for everyone. Maybe make it where the third parties must update their files here to confirm it works on the latest version, and until that happens some check during install of a new board version could allow it to warn them that a particular app has not been confirmed to work on it, and either they are updating at their own risk or maybe even have the app auto disabled.
  11. I need a literal new kitchen sink.
  12. Just curious if you store the points in the members table or elsewhere, in case I want to integrate it with various apps. I usually just make my own points app, but even then I tried to have them compatible with other people's points apps.
  13. Missouri is technically on my list of where to go see it, but more likely Nashville, KY, or Carbondale. Haven't for sure decided yet. lol. Do you have any new public apps you're working on? I haven't checked out other people's apps in ages and I bet I would like a lot of them. Still going to finish mine, soon.
  14. I haven't worked with 4.2 yet, but I definitely see the problem here if they put a lot of functionality that third parties are likely to want to manipulate in traits. (I obviously don't know their exact setup on it, though, since I have done nothing in 4.2).
