Or clickable member names along the bottom, clicking takes you to their pin..

Not an original idea, used to be a Google Map mod that did that on my 2nd favourite forum software ;)

Great mod, I particularly liked the auto update it did too - Sweet!

I've been investigating, it looks like it's an issue with locales. You use a comma in float values, but MySQL is expecting a decimal . so it's truncating the value.

I'm just putting together a custom function now so the value is still santized, but it also in the correct format.

Add a button to below the persons avatar that indicated they are listed on the map, and it takes it to their position when clicked?

What I like to see is the ability to disable mouse wheel from zooming in and out. The reason I say this is I typically scroll a page using mouse wheel but when I hit the map page to scroll down the map just zooms out so I cant see anything. Using the map slider does not positions the map back to its original point. I then have to refresh the page to reset the map and then carefully maneuver around it to my browser scroll bar to see full map. The only other solution I can suggest for this if not possible is to add a sidebar so that one can have room on side of map to scroll the page without it affecting the map zoom. Good job so far...

    Thanks.

    Two suggestions:

    1) Show the member's location in the balloon.

    2) Add a list to the right of the map of members who have added their location. When you click on a member's name, zoom in and open the balloon.

    :)

I imagine this has already been stated, but the report center is quite lacking in finesse compared to what it was in 2.3... Two changes in particular that I would like to see made to it:

    - The ability to view the report and comments directly from the topic via an AJAX popup, a la warn logs.

    - Moving or hiding [spoiler-like] the post in post reports, so that it's not necessary to scroll past the [sometimes multiple-page-long] post in order to see the actual report.

In general, it seems to me that the system as a whole should be more streamlined and conducive to handling reports en masse. The 2.3 application had that; 3.0's doesn't.

After using this software for a bit, and having been pleased with its performance thus far I would like to share my thoughts with people looking for some answers. Hopefully some of my commentary will help potential buyers since it comes from a fellow vbulletin admin.

Just to elaborate a bit before beginning, I've been a vbulletin user for a little over 3 years now on a relatively small forum with a consistent group of posters. It isn't a 'big board' by any means, but over time I've probably used most the features that vbulletin offers. This puts me at an advantage with that software bundle over IP.Board, so if I give kudos to a feature that is 'missing', but isn't actually missing and a user error of ignorance on my part, please chime in and correct me fully.

I know you can't really be objective on some things, and for those instances I've tried to separate them from the facts by italicizing them. Also, this is not at all a comprehensive analysis of the two softwares. Just a collection of points that stood out to me. Hopefully this kind of thing is allowed if done in a non-hostile/polite to other product way, if not then nuke away or move to the appropriate area, if there is one.

    Things in Invision's Favor:

This is based on the 3.0 series of board, after my use of the IP.Suite product that comes with IP.Board/Blog/Gallery

I thought when you right-clicked on the post icons that you were showing a feature that I didn't know existed. But it would appear that you have a hack installed on your board.

Personally I don't agree. Sure your nice large icons help people find posts within a forum that may interest them, but a more efficient way (IMO) of organising the topics would for them to have their own forums. e.g Apple forum, Linux forum, ... Organising like that helps visitors focus much more quickly on what they may be interested in, rather than having to find the correct post icon.

I do use post icons a lot, and will miss them. But I guess I'm not so bothered about their deprecation that I bother to make a YouTube video. :)

My 'must have' feature I want back is the link to go to the 'first unread' post in the search results screens. I don't want the last post if I cannot see the unread posts before the last one. That's their biggest mistake.

Amen. It's requirements like that that force people to have to write down their passwords, thus defeating the purpose of the security gains you're supposed to be getting from having these requirements.

When useing "ACP Restrictions", if a group doesn't have access to something I would like it for them not to be able to see the tab.

add: Would be nice for the ACP search to only return results that group can use.

I can certainly understand that and believe me when I say you're not the first to have license transfer issues and in spite of our warnings, probably won't be the last. Again, I'm sorry we can't be of more assistance and do hope you understand our position.
