I agree with this.  I'd love to see something along the lines of how Facebook user blocks work.  When you block someone on Facebook, you cannot see their profile, you cannot see their posts, you don't see them in the list of users for a group, you pretty much never see anything from them.  The only time you'll even see their name is if someone writes it out without linking to their profile.  Very effective.
I've had this same request on my forum by numerous people over the years.

I agree, a mechanism to allow users to "up vote" posts and somehow highlight the highest voted posts would be interesting. There is already the "Like" mechanism, and that would be put into play. Anytime you have voting, though, you end up with people doing vote brigading, so it's not always ideal.

Some of the links in that post are actually to other threads, and there are so many links that I feel the Recommended Replies feature would be too unwieldy.  But I certainly intend to use the Recommended Replies feature often.

This is interesting.  One way I would use this on my forum is to provide an index to interesting/important posts in a very long thread.  Here's an example where I did this last year, and I had to edit the first post in a thread (with the original poster's permission):

If there is one feature we all would like to see it's Complete block of a user if he is annoying another member. As of now this is limited to collapse of the members posts. I have seen conflicts to the extent that forums close down altogether. A forum as such is all about opinions, there are bound to be difference in openions to the extent that at times the conversation really heats up. Facebook and Twitter do this the right way.

Very nice and useful feature.  I could definitely see myself using this often.  There are many questions of a technical nature on my forum, and it would be great to highlight some of the better responses in such a thread (especially if it's lengthy).

More great changes, I appreciate your taking the time to describe upcoming improvements!  Question about the embeds: How easy is it for third-party developers (and/or forum admins) to create new embeds?
    Thanks!
