    John Swallow got a reaction from Joriz in Performance Mode Indicator - Suggestion
    I've done a quick search and can't see anything ...

    One of the things I want to encourage my admins to think about is using Performance Mode - my site usually runs very nicely, but occasionally we see huge spikes in demand, and to my eyes that would be the ideal time to turn it on.

    However, once it's on - unless you're looking for it (or the things that are missing) you don't know it's turned on. Would it be possible to include something (or even tell me how to skin that in), maybe on the Mod Tools top line to say that "Performance Mode is enabled"? That way it's obvious to us.

    I agree with MindTooth. Some of those suggestions seem pretty reasonable. I don't mind not using TinyMCE. It's nothing important really. IMHO, we really don't need it. But the last suggestion is a must, really. The site has been moved for quite some time now.

    Post in the Peer to peer section, or send a ticket to IPS please. This forum is for feedback only.

    I don`t know if this is happening only to me or not, but everytime i open a ticket i receive a response in not less than 48h.
    It is very frustrating when i have some little issue that can be fixed in 5 min and i have to wait 2 days for an answer.
    Usually i resolve it myself after some research.

    You definitely have to review your support service, isn`t this why i pay 25$ every 6 months?

    Can a sticky not be put in this forum? Every weekend people post this topic and it's clearly a stumbling block that many of your newest customers are unaware of (or not understanding in their excitement once they've bought the software). :)

    How kind of you to permit this.

    Do you want some serious feedback though? I'm very unimpressed with the way you announced this.

    Here's the original announcement:

    As far as I can tell I have an active support and service license. Otherwise I wouldn't be allowed to log tickets with and download software from you. Wonder what a Trading Standards department would make of this if you were a British company?

    As another Lifetime license holder, I'm disgusted with this decision but just about understand why you're going down the money grabbing route for any future new "services".

    I suppose that it's a question of is spending extra money per year worth it in the time I'm spending catching spammers at the moment? And the answer to that one is no.

    I have done so already, but I thought this was a discussion forum for us to share our views.

    If other people are allowed to make such ridiculous posts as "What does IPB smell like?", I thought it would be a nice change to make a post that's relevant to your product, which my users are getting more and more fed up with by the day.

    You can take it out by editing the custom profile field rather than editing the skin.

    I'm guessing that was aimed at me.

    I didn't completely disregard the purpose of those modifications. I was stating through personal opinions that for me they are pointless.

    Also, I said that the shoutbox influences people to not post in the forums. Not the Chat bar.

    Regardless of those points, I believe that with the chat bar an option should be included to either allow it to be used globally with all members as well as with friends.

    If it's not displayed out-of-box, you should really consider adding this as default. Users not knowing you are running in performance mode can get a little pissed if a lot of the futures they use suddenly is disabled.
    Should add a message to the latest news tab or something: "The site is currently running in performance mode to handle all the traffic. This means that some futures is temporarily disabled and/or changed to allow the site to run more smoothly."

    It does indicate it on the performance mode page, but I can see your point. I believe the status is stored in the caches somewhere, so it would be possible to load it on the front end easy enough and show an indicator (it would probably be a 10 second skin edit in all reality...)

    $caches = $this->registry->getCache('performanceCache'); </php> <if test="count($caches)"> Performance mode is enabled! </if>
    <php>

    Something like that. :)
