Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications Matt November 11, 2024Nov 11
Posted May 3, 20232 yr I thought I had my community set up not to allow any image uploads and thought I had turned off the ability for members of all groups to change their profile cover photos. Until a member uploaded a photo of themselves as their new cover photo! I cannot tell what may be allowing this since I have double checked the settings for all groups (the screenshot attached shows settings for moderators, but I have put the same settings for all groups including "members"). Where else should I look in settings to disallow this ability? Edited May 3, 20232 yr by InTheWings
May 3, 20232 yr Community Expert Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention! I can confirm this should be further reviewed and I have logged an internal bug report for our development team to investigate and address as necessary, in a future maintenance release.
May 3, 20232 yr Author Is there anything I can do to help the problem in the meantime? Is there any chance this is specific to our community and can be addressed by an IT person from Invision?
May 3, 20232 yr Community Expert Solution Sorry, as this is a bug in our software, this can only be remedied through us fixing the issue in a release. There is no work around at this time.
May 3, 20232 yr Author I am new to owning an Invision community. Is there an easy way for me to monitor when a fix for this bug becomes available or be notified?
May 3, 20232 yr Community Expert Our release notes page is the best way to check each release for your fix: https://invisioncommunity.com/release-notes/ Often, we do comment back in these topics when that a release resolved the issue but it is not guaranteed.
June 6, 20231 yr Community Expert We have been unable to replicate this ourselves, unfortunately. Please check to make sure you are editing a profile as a non-moderator, or as a moderator that doesn't have the Can Edit Member Profiles mod permission.
