AtariAge Posted July 30, 2019 Posted July 30, 2019 Now that I've been running 4.4.x for a month, one issue that comes up repeatedly is managing quotes while composing a message. It seems quite difficult to split a quote. The only way I've been able to do it is to press ENTER twice at the end of a paragraph. However, I don't see a way to split a quote at any arbitrary location. Surely there is a way to do this? If not, can this be added in some future version? I am aware that you can select text in a previous reply and then click the "Quote selection" button that appears. However, sometimes you just want to quote an entire post and then inject your responses as necessary. Thanks in advance for any insight. ..Al
Meddysong Posted July 31, 2019 Posted July 31, 2019 You create a break at an arbitrary location and then in the new paragraph break which that produces you can do the 'Enter twice' trick which you've already discovered.
bfarber Posted July 31, 2019 Posted July 31, 2019 Yes, worded differently - hitting enter twice in the middle of a quote should split it at that point.

Not intuitive, but at least I can explain this to people when they ask (and I've been asked how to do this quite a few times since the switch from 3.4.x). 10 hours ago, Meddysong said: which that produces you can do the 'Enter twice' trick which you've already discovered.
