Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt Monday at 02:04 PM
Florent Cadet Posted August 26, 2017 Posted August 26, 2017 I was hoping a bugfix for IPS 4.2 regarding CKEditor and mention but it's still a pain using Chrome. In developers console, we can see a lot of Quote ckeditor.js?v=73552ec35a:2 Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'removeListener' of undefined at Object.c [as removeListener] (ckeditor.js?v=73552ec35a:2) at CKEDITOR.plugins.ipsmentions.closeResults (plugin.js?t=H7AB:1) at CKEDITOR.plugins.ipsmentions.selectMentionResult (plugin.js?t=H7AB:1) at HTMLLIElement.f (root_library.js.bd10a29164053f8ef32c2ca0ae9f8c8e.js?v=73552ec35a:2) at HTMLLIElement.dispatch (root_library.js.bd10a29164053f8ef32c2ca0ae9f8c8e.js?v=73552ec35a:2) at HTMLLIElement.r.handle (root_library.js.bd10a29164053f8ef32c2ca0ae9f8c8e.js?v=73552ec35a:2) c @ ckeditor.js?v=73552ec35a:2 closeResults @ plugin.js?t=H7AB:1 selectMentionResult @ plugin.js?t=H7AB:1 f @ root_library.js.bd10a29164053f8ef32c2ca0ae9f8c8e.js?v=73552ec35a:2 dispatch @ root_library.js.bd10a29164053f8ef32c2ca0ae9f8c8e.js?v=73552ec35a:2 r.handle @ root_library.js.bd10a29164053f8ef32c2ca0ae9f8c8e.js?v=73552ec35a:2 plugin.js?t=H7AB:1 Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'remove' of null at CKEDITOR.plugins.ipsmentions.cancelMention (plugin.js?t=H7AB:1) at CKEDITOR.plugins.ipsmentions.listenWithinMentionEvent (plugin.js?t=H7AB:1) at a.e (ckeditor.js?v=73552ec35a:2) at a.window.CKEDITOR.window.CKEDITOR.dom.CKEDITOR.event.CKEDITOR.event.fire (ckeditor.js?v=73552ec35a:2) at a.window.CKEDITOR.window.CKEDITOR.dom.CKEDITOR.editor.CKEDITOR.editor.fire (ckeditor.js?v=73552ec35a:2) at window.CKEDITOR.window.CKEDITOR.dom.CKEDITOR.keystrokeHandler.d (ckeditor.js?v=73552ec35a:12) at f.e (ckeditor.js?v=73552ec35a:2) at f.window.CKEDITOR.window.CKEDITOR.dom.CKEDITOR.event.CKEDITOR.event.fire (ckeditor.js?v=73552ec35a:2) at HTMLDivElement.<anonymous> (ckeditor.js?v=73552ec35a:4) You really need to rework it imo.
Florent Cadet Posted October 11, 2017 Author Posted October 11, 2017 No anwser? Issue is present on your own forum... Currently 78 errors in developer console and errors number increments each time I type a character.
opentype Posted October 11, 2017 Posted October 11, 2017 Open a support ticket to report a potential bug. This is the peer to peer forum.
Florent Cadet Posted October 11, 2017 Author Posted October 11, 2017 @opentype thanks, it's done. Support is starting again to tell me that this is not reproductible. A simple video which explains issue:
Nathan Explosion Posted October 11, 2017 Posted October 11, 2017 I've been using Chrome a lot recently, and actually been developing a plugin that uses mentions functionality, and I've not seen that at all (have my console logs set to Verbose too.) Do you have an adblocker Chrome extension installed? If so, which one?
Joel R Posted October 11, 2017 Posted October 11, 2017 I get a ton of problems using @mentions both on my own site and here on IPS. ... Mentions dont show as blue when I post Multiple mentions is a pain in the ass since they don't trigger I just refresh the page every time I do a new mention
Florent Cadet Posted October 11, 2017 Author Posted October 11, 2017 Myself and a lot of my members' board have this issue. Can it be related to a Adblock plugin which is common with Google Chrome? With my knowledges, I don't know how it's possible, I'm a front end dev. Also, when you use a mention in your message, sometimes you cannot start a new paragraph, "enter" key is broken. It's due to javascript errors I guess. This issue is present since I use IPS board, version 4

Florent Cadet Posted October 11, 2017 Author Posted October 11, 2017 With all Chrome plugins disabled, I'm still getting javascript error. 11 minutes ago, Joel R said: Multiple mentions is a pain in the ass since they don't trigger I just refresh the page every time I do a new mention Totally agree. I do the same. The first javascript error is why you cannot use a second mention without refreshing the page.
Optic14 Posted November 1, 2017 Posted November 1, 2017 I have found @ mentions to be a little hit and miss. If I type the @ and username too quickly then the overlay to suggest members doesn’t appear and just shows as plain text.

Florent Cadet Posted June 12, 2018 Author Posted June 12, 2018 And this issue is still here with IPB 4.3 unfortunately...
