Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt Monday at 02:04 PM
Subzero-mb Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 Is it mentions not working anymore? I tried in my site and nothing happen, but I tried here and also is not working. I type @ and first letters of the name but the list with names is not showing like a few months ago. Am I doing anything wrong? Thanks
opentype Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 @Subzero-mb Working for me. Maybe you have some interfering browser-plugins?
Subzero-mb Posted May 27, 2015 Author Posted May 27, 2015 @Ralf H. maybe is that, I am using iexplorer 10 from the office but the browser has nothing special installed...
Subzero-mb Posted May 27, 2015 Author Posted May 27, 2015 As you see in the previous message, even writing manually your name the forum does not include the link to your profile and I can imagine you are reciving nothing from this notification I have tried
Jim M Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 @Subzero-mb, You will need to wait for the drop-down to appear and select the user from the list otherwise it won't work correctly This is from IE10.
Subzero-mb Posted May 27, 2015 Author Posted May 27, 2015 @Jim M I have been like 1 minute waiting for the drop-down to appear but nothing happen. I do not know why it is happening, I am in the office but I will try in my house in 1 hour if it is working there.
Subzero-mb Posted May 27, 2015 Author Posted May 27, 2015 I am now in my house with Firefox in a Macbook and nothing, for me it is not working @Jim M @Marius ... What am I doing wrong? If it is not working for me in windows neither in mac is because:- I am not doing correctly- I have some restriction in my account Sorry to bother you with this stupid question, but as I remember this was as easy as write a "@" and then type the first 3 letters of the user name and in 1 or 2 seconds appear a list with names, but now I don't know why it is not working...
Subzero-mb Posted May 27, 2015 Author Posted May 27, 2015 Ok now it is solve, it was because I use the first letter in capital as Jim or Marius display. To mention you should write everything in lowcase @Jim M @Marius Is not this point something could be improve to take in account lower and high case letters? it does not seem very intuitive for every user of our forums
Subzero-mb Posted May 28, 2015 Author Posted May 28, 2015 Thanks to everyone. I am not sure what happen but it seems is not working perfectly for me, sometimes appear the list, sametimes not... I was thinking to record a video showing how it works. Anyway thanks for your time helping me
gfcguy Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 @gfcguy ... I'm having issues with this on my site as well - I'm checking to see if I can mention myself here to see if this works on another IPB4 community. If this works for me here then the issue may be e-mail through my host server end (I am not using Mandrill)
gfcguy Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 Do @ mentions notify you via email or via PM? I'm getting neither, and so perhaps this is a browser plug-in issue brought up earlier in this thread by Ralf
Marius Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 @Marius I can mention myself here. I did not know this thing.
Jim M Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 Do @ mentions notify you via email or via PM? I'm getting neither, and so perhaps this is a browser plug-in issue brought up earlier in this thread by RalfDepends on what you have your notifications set as for mentions: options are a notification or an email
