Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt November 11, 2024
Genestoy Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 Is it just me or what? Using FireFox 4.0 and the 3.2 skin keeps messing up and I have to keep deleting the cookies which are being set by "internal.invisionpower.com" ??
.Ian Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 Don't worry - CSS has gone for me as well in Chrome - can't get it back at the moment. But it will come....
Management Charles Posted June 2, 2011 Management Posted June 2, 2011 Check your DNS. http://content.community.invisionpower.com ... you will need to be able to get to that URL to get CSS and images.
FibuTech Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 if i try to open the CSS File i get this errormessage:content.community.invisionpower.com could not be found^^
Divine Forces Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 Ye CSS isn't loading for me :P Looks very strange L
Management Charles Posted June 2, 2011 Management Posted June 2, 2011 if i try to open the CSS File i get this errormessage:content.community.invisionpower.com could not be found^^ You should clear your DNS :)
Biker.GA Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 I had to change to Google's DNS in order for the site to load properly.
.Ian Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 It has just come back for me - seems to come and g.It has just come back for me - seems to come and go.
Genestoy Posted June 2, 2011 Author Posted June 2, 2011 I have been here so long that my url was http://forums.invisionpower.com/ and now (thanks Charles) http://content.community.invisionpower.com/ Seems to be working fine
.Ian Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 Lost CSS again :( I am off for a drink ;) Am sure the guys will sort it out. :)
Management Charles Posted June 2, 2011 Management Posted June 2, 2011 <p>If you cannot get to content.community.invisionpower.com because your ISP's DNS isn't refreshing I'm afraid images and CSS won't work for you until your DNS updates.</p>
Rhett Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 Don't worry - CSS has gone for me as well in Chrome - can't get it back at the moment. But it will come.... See if I can post without any css.... lolThe problem I have is the css or somewhere is pointing to content.community.invisionpower.com rather then community.invisionpower.comI would think they can see this but maybe not.... I have nothing but raw files.... :(

Alex Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 But it keeps coming and going - not sure it is my DNS - the forums seem to go offline and then the full CSS reappears. I had the issue too, seems OpenDNS hasn't updated it's DNS for the CDN (even though I told it to refresh caches multiple times it's refusing to work in a few countries). I switched to Google's public DNS (8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4) and it all works fine now.
.Ian Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 There is one advantage to the css failing - the hidden 'back to top' shows on each post ;)

Genestoy Posted June 2, 2011 Author Posted June 2, 2011 What a mess! Now I have to remove the "content" to get here
Rhett Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 Now it seems to be working fine and it's no longer referencing content.community...bla..bla... I would not think you would need to add a subdomain to use ipcontent? anyway glad it's up now.
