Keven Fox Posted October 3, 2006 Posted October 3, 2006 Okay when viewing topics I noticed the new Quick (or Fast) Reply.I like it, mostly.I think it's too tall though. I would think it should be at most 2 inches tall until you keep typing or something. The reason I say this is when I view a post or the last post in a topic I don't see it all that well as it goes right to the fast reply. This would be fine maybe if it wasn't so tall.Just something I noticed, and felt the need to comment on.Edit: Nope it isn't too tall, it takes you to the Fast Reply so you don't even see the topic's post. Also there is still the Quick Edit issue where you used to be able to tab and complete now I cannot. In FACT I cannot even click Complete for some reason, so now I'm doing full edit.Matt: Quick edit works for me...Wow Matt that's very cool! (the reason for edit thing)But QE still doesn't work for me, I'm again in full edit. Using Opera 9.02 if that means anything.
WalleniuM Posted October 3, 2006 Posted October 3, 2006 quick edit works for me, tooFirefox 2.0 Nightly forks perfect. nice feature Matt :)
Darksbane Posted October 3, 2006 Posted October 3, 2006 I like it personally, the code buttons are nice
FrostedPopTart Posted October 3, 2006 Posted October 3, 2006 There seems to be a bug or two with the new fast reply...I will make a report in the bug tracker if it hasn't been already.
Sam A Posted October 3, 2006 Posted October 3, 2006 How did you get the reason for edit Michael, is that a feature?
Terry - AKA Dumbledore Posted October 3, 2006 Posted October 3, 2006 Cant post within the fast reply box. IE 7 also when you mouseover the control icons you lose skin formation of the fast edit, dosen't happen in FF.PS: Quick edit also broken. Can't get the curser into the textbox. You have to edit in full editor.PS: It appears the problems are with IE 7 /All works with FF
FrostedPopTart Posted October 3, 2006 Posted October 3, 2006 Cant post within the fast reply box. IE 7 also when you mouseover the control icons you lose skin formation of the fast edit, dosen't happen in FF.Already noted in the bug tracker, I would get a link but my internet is ungodly slow this morning. :( edit - here is the link to the bug report (sorrey for the delay, slow internet :( ): http://forums.invisionpower.com/index.php?...mp;bug_cat_id=2
Guest Posted October 3, 2006 Posted October 3, 2006 Oooh, it's pretty. How do you get the reason for edit thing working?
Myr Posted October 3, 2006 Posted October 3, 2006 It looks nice... but I hope we have the option to use the old style.
Management Charles Posted October 3, 2006 Management Posted October 3, 2006 It looks nice... but I hope we have the option to use the old style. It's just that: a style. You can remove the little button row from your skin :)
FCB-Mo Posted October 3, 2006 Posted October 3, 2006 well since you have the editor style quick reply, you may aswell add the option of having a RTE quick reply ;)
Terry - AKA Dumbledore Posted October 3, 2006 Posted October 3, 2006 Quick Edit and Fast Reply works in FF but not IE 7
Myr Posted October 3, 2006 Posted October 3, 2006 Thanks Charles.I still have 1 user that uses WebTV/MSNTV and quick reply is the only thing that works. I hope it still does. If not, it may finally force him to get a computer. *sighs*
WalleniuM Posted October 3, 2006 Posted October 3, 2006 ok. confirmed: With IE 7 on Win Vista, you cannot write a text. (edit & quick reply). you can click into the text filed, but the cursor doesn appear, and i cannot write anything..

Terry - AKA Dumbledore Posted October 3, 2006 Posted October 3, 2006 Other have found that the txt is being posted to the top of the page. It appears there is a formating error that is causing the text to not locate within the edit box.
WalleniuM Posted October 3, 2006 Posted October 3, 2006 matt, you're my hero ;) (written with IE 7)hmm. strange: if i'm hovering over the buttons, sometimes the header (the blue bnar with the fast reply text) disappears.
Terry - AKA Dumbledore Posted October 3, 2006 Posted October 3, 2006 Thanks Matt. The skinning error is still there in IE7, unless the skin bits haven't been rebuilt yet.To reproduce the error you have to have the full fast reply box centered within the browser,if part of the box is outside of the browser window the formating will not disappear.
FrostedPopTart Posted October 3, 2006 Posted October 3, 2006 I can confirm that you can post in the new fast reply in IE7 now, good job and thanks Matt. :)
Management Matt Posted October 3, 2006 Management Posted October 3, 2006 It's amazing how literal IE is with obj.unselectable = 'on';
Alex Posted October 3, 2006 Posted October 3, 2006 Has this been updated on company forums as it hasnt worked for me?
Xenboy Posted October 3, 2006 Posted October 3, 2006 I had problems earlier with the quick reply box as well. I entered some text and clicked Add Reply and I was told I had to select a post if I wanted it to work.Odd.
