  1. Jim M's post in Settings for using gmail for email notifications from forum. was marked as the answer
The authentication credentials you're using to connect to GMail's SMTP server are incorrect. As this is a third party SMTP server, that would be the extent of what I can tell you, I'm afraid.
You will want to ensure they are correct and all details are correct. You may have changed your Google password or GMail could have changed their authentication or access details all together.
  2. Jim M's post in Require member to select a default activity stream? was marked as the answer
I'm afraid, this isn't something that is configurable at the member group or member level at this time. You're more than welcome to suggest this in our official Feature Suggestion forum for further evaluation.
  3. Jim M's post in Do I need to create an app to share links on Facebook? was marked as the answer
This is due to you have overlaid the default tag with a custom tag. I would recommend deleting that in ACP -> System -> Search Engine Optimization -> Meta Tags. If this is not desired or changing it to one which is desired.
  4. Jim M's post in Changed to a New Content Delivery Network was marked as the answer
Testing this on your community, I am seeing the URL which is in the ACP present and the emoticon image is showing up. Have you tried clearing your browser's cache?
If you're still seeing it, could you please provide a URL to the topic/post which you're seeing this?
  5. Jim M's post in How to deal with spammers? was marked as the answer
Simple answer is don’t allow the score 4 results register as per the default setting in ACP > Members > Spam Prevention > Spam Defense.
If you want to review these per your own reasons, any further action would also need to follow your desired plan. I think you’re idea of having a lot of banned accounts would be my personal concern and the above would resolve that.
Just a small addendum, it can do those things but all per the proper settings in ACP > Members > Spam Prevention 🙂
  6. Jim M's post in Group Promotions - how to run a rule? was marked as the answer
They would operate when the user is saved. This happens when they login, you manually save the user, etc...
  7. Jim M's post in How to have posts 'featured' automatically was marked as the answer
"Featured" topics would be manually done. There are "Popular Now" blocks which you can set a number of replies and a duration and topics which align to those will show in the "Popular Now" block. However, that is the closest thing to an automated "feature".
You can certainly suggest this in our Feature Suggestion forum though for review for a future release.
  8. Jim M's post in Iframe issue in club page was marked as the answer
Yes, unfortunately, that confirms that it is an issue with your embedded third party items which are creating the problem here.
  9. Jim M's post in RSS Feed For Site Displays XML was marked as the answer
    That is normal 🙂 .
  10. Jim M's post in A User Sent a Message Via the Contact Form Spam was marked as the answer
The Contact Us form, if you have forcing guests to fill out a CAPTCHA on ACP -> Members -> Spam Prevention -> CAPTCHA, will force the user to fill out a CAPTCHA.
In 4.7, we are implementing a new CAPTCHA system, hCAPTCHA into our arsenal. If you are finding Google's CAPTCHA systems are getting bypassed, you can try hCAPTCHA. I, personally, have been having success with it on my personal community.
If you want to simply turn the contact us form off for guests, you can do that in ACP -> System -> Contact Us -> Show Contact Us to.

Your database connection details, including server, database user, and database password can be found in the conf_global.php file. However, to verify these credentials, please contact your hosting provider.
  12. Jim M's post in Refund was marked as the answer
Please have the seller reach out to our account team on the https://invisioncommunity.com/contact-us/ and we can take care of it for you 🙂 . Unfortunately, Marketplace refunds need to be initiated by the author.
  13. Jim M's post in Avoid serving legacy JavaScript to modern browsers was marked as the answer
These are core and part of our Javascript framework. You would not be able to remove these, I'm afraid. These would be required for different reasons within our framework, some might be due to compatibility with older browsers within our browser support stack.
  14. Jim M's post in Our Picks module is not displaying the promoted items was marked as the answer
Unfortunately, this is an issue with one of your third-party applications/plugins. After disabling these, your "Our Picks" block is working without issue. Please disable all of these items and then test again. Once done, please re-enable them one-by-one to see which one is the issue here. Please contact the author for assistance.
Please keep in mind when going from one version to the next, some third-party applications/plugins may not be compatible yet and you will encounter errors. When you have as many as you have installed, unfortunately, the chances are higher of this.
  15. Jim M's post in Updated to 8.0, cron not working was marked as the answer
Caching would not be related to CRON. If your constants.php does not have Redis present and your /datastore directory is writable, this warning can be cached so you will want to dismiss it and then see if it comes back. Please let us know 🙂 .
  16. Jim M's post in Editor Toolbar Error 1C120/B: Unable to Add New Buttons was marked as the answer
We utilize CKEditor 4.18 in our software and both the plugins you listed are not confirmed to work for that version. Please contact the author of those plugins to ensure that they are compatible with the version of CKEditor.
  17. Jim M's post in % on sales and multiple paiement method was marked as the answer
Yes, you can assign payment methods available to different products. This is not possible in Commerce as, generally, it is assumed sold from only the site owner(s). Our Downloads application does facilitate in this manner due to members can sell downloadable items there. I'm not sure if you're selling downloadable items if that can assist you?
  18. Jim M's post in Random Members Cannot View Poll Results was marked as the answer
Please be advised I have moved this to a ticket to better investigate what is happening here. Please watch your email for further correspondence.
  19. Jim M's post in Anyone around to do email support? was marked as the answer
Please have the Cloud client ensure you are on their Cloud package as an alternate who can submit support replies. Unfortunately, often is the case there are multiple packages, and permissions incorrectly set which would trigger our bounce back and the ticket to be deleted. (I was actually just helping where the individual was set on their self-hosted license and the same thing happened).
However, if they have you as an alternate, you should be able to login to the Client Area to submit the ticket. If you do not have that option, setup was not done correctly and need to be adjusted. Please have the client contact us if any questions.
  20. Jim M's post in Customers Only Area! was marked as the answer
As Randy mentioned, our Commerce application will be able to assist you here with your goals. It will allow you to take payment and handle renewing products or subscriptions. You can then have it assign a specific member group to users who have an active renewal. Then assign that group with the ability to see all the items you wish in member group permissions.
You can read more about Commerce in our Guides here:

You currently do not own Commerce so you would need to purchase this in the Client Area if you decide to move forward with it 🙂 .

  21. Jim M's post in How to get an email notification when a member submits a credits withdrawal? was marked as the answer
Check out Admin notifications in ACP -> Notification Bell (top right) -> Notification Settings -> enable which option you want for "A member requests an account credit withdrawal"
  22. Jim M's post in Where is the withdrawals option for forum members ? was marked as the answer
Are you referring to the account credit in Commerce? If so, withdrawals currently only work with PayPal. They can request by your withdrawal settings by going to /clients/credit/  on your community (you may wish to add that to your menu manager if it's not there already). On that screen, if you allow withdrawals, they will be able to submit a request.
  23. Jim M's post in DNS Settings Help was marked as the answer
Our Cloud can only support root domains (e.g. example.com) or sub-domains (e.g. community.example.com). It cannot support sub-folders - or in this regard where the root domain lives on another server due to technical restrictions that Randy mentions.
Most of our customers who have a main site already on another service or server, generally go the sub-domain route here in our Cloud.
Alternatively, if really having that sub-folder, "domain.com/forum/", is what you desire, this will indeed require self-hosting both your main site and our software on the same server.
  24. Jim M's post in Enable Marked Solved All Forums? was marked as the answer
Sorry, there is no way which is recommended/supported than using the software to manually set this. I can move this to the community support forum if you wish to explore other methods with your fellow administrators?
  25. Jim M's post in Too many categories have broken IP.Download was marked as the answer
Unfortunately, the software is not built to have thousands of categories. Categories are not necessarily taxonomy like you're attempting to use here. If you have this many categories, it will create performance problems, like you're experiencing or create other issues, I'm afraid.
