This isn't something likely we'd endeavor to accommodate. I'd recommend looking into a new hosting plan/host in reality. Eventually, you can simply outgrow a hosting plan.

The lofi version can automatically be loaded by mapping user agents to a skin in the ACP. You can add additional user agents in the appropriate page under the System tab, then edit the lofi skin in the ACP to map those new user agents to it.

As Josh already pointed out in another thread, this functionality will be back with 3.0.2.

@Speed Racer - no need to ask (or tell) us to listen to our customers. We always listen. :) That doesn't mean we can always do what someone wants when they want it, but I assure you, we always listen.

We can't make any promises on that yet, but it's something we're working on.

Well, I suppose we COULD have held up the IPB 3.0 release for the relatively small minority of customers who use subscription manager. However, I think the majority of our customers are glad that 3.0 has been released, minus a feature that is being released separately.

Subscription manager is nearly done. MSSQL is in development. We simply decided to concentrate on the functionality that the majority of our customers need, and hold up ever so slightly the functionality that only a minority of the customers use (but takes a while to develop).

We can't really say anything else about it at this point, nor am I sure what you would like to be said. It's in development. It's almost done. The past is done with, and we can't go back in time to hold things up to include the subscription manager.

Unfortunately, guys, despite the laborious and time-consuming testing we do locally, it's just not the same as testing on a box with hundreds (sometimes thousands) of users online and millions of posts. Basically, this is a real world situation. We need to do real world testing at times.

We'd rather do it here, on our own site, and get IPB3 working as good as we possibly can, than release IPB to you guys with slow functions and so forth. Just look at it this way - we're doing the testing here, where we can control, debug, monitor and fix it, to save you trouble down the road. :)

In the meantime, there is inline help throughout the majority of the ACP that answers questions about each individual page. I'd urge you to make use of it, as I think it will help you with most of the new stuff.

The detailed PDF was done by a third party, as I recall. I am not positive when an updated copy will be available.

Brandon D got it to export last night. But there are problems with some of it that I need to go through. I'm hopeful I can get things cleaned up and maybe have a copy of the phpdocs up next week, or the week after.

Well, there you've stated it. The older license type has "added value" which you are not willing to let it go. To be honest, you can't have everything. Your older license has other values while the current one has its another (and unproven) values.

Though I find that some people here are really overreacting to this. This sort of thing happens all the time with my cellular phone company and ISP.

A license holder is a license holder, yes. And we're being fair across the board. If you hold a license to run IPB, you can run IPB. If your license entitles you to download updates or obtain technical support, we still honor that, and will continue to honor that.

However, for perpetual and lifetime license holders, that is all that your license entitles you to. I am really not sure why this seems so upsetting to everyone. You purchased a product that included a license. That license said "you can continue to obtain updates and technical support". That is all that your license granted you. And we are honoring that.

The standard license, on the other hand, has a different structure. The fees associated with the standard license cover updates, support, and future services and products IPS may make available.

Basically what I'm hearing in this thread is that IPS as a company should not be allowed to offer anything special to standard license holders ever, so long as they don't also give that to (basically) all license holders. I'm just not understanding how, as a customer, you could make that assertion?

Let's say Microsoft decided today that they're going to bundle a new service with Windows 7. That service will do something neat that users have requested (maybe a built in anti-virus for instance, and it runs as a service, pulling definitions from Microsoft's servers daily). They are going to let users on Windows 7 use this service for free, but only for Windows 7 users - not for Vista or XP users. You must be using Windows 7 to make use of this new service. Is there honestly a problem with that? Why should Microsoft not be allowed to offer new services to those users without also giving that service away for free to other customers as well? And if there isn't a problem with that, how is it any different than what we are doing?

My assistant feature was purposefully removed

Moderating team link is in same spot and *nearly* the same size as it was in 2.3.x. If you think it should be made bigger, that's what the skin system is for. For our default skin, we didn't feel that was a hugely important feature that needed a gigantic link on the index page.

There is a list of moderators - the moderating team link.

And private messages now have an ACTUAL report feature. You as an admin can control which groups can access each type of reported content. If members don't want your entire staff reading pms, limit pm reports so that only admins can view and address them. If your members would rather forward the pm, they can copy the contents and start a new conversation with a moderator. They can invite a moderator to an existing conversation. You have 3 options now, where in IPB 2 you only had 1.

All I gather from your suggestions is you are resistant to change and want IPB 3 to be IPB 2. I'm afraid IPB3 is not IPB2, and likely won't be in the future.
