  1. Hi,

    Trying to install latested upgrade

We following the instructions in the 4.2.2 UPDATE changelog

For some reason i do not have an option to delete in the editor.

I have a button called revert instead of delete as per your screen shot in the changelog

    Any ideas?

No. And copying some text from a blog on the internet doesn’t prove the opposite.

In any case: I merely add a button to access IPS’ contact form. I won’t change its functionality.

Ok no worries, I will stop guests using the button

I only posted that info as it was quick and easy to try and explain

The actual info came from a GDPR laywer in a webcast so I am fairly confident it is fact.

  3. Hi Apparently any form submission requires explicit consent to conform to the GDPR regulations.

Forms collecting information that can identify the person are affected. This includes information like names, photos, an email addresses, or IP address.

Request the explicit consent of every user before any data collection takes place. Requests must be in clear, plain, easily understandable language free of legalese. It also must stand alone from other matters or requests and not be buried in other text.

Everyone we know who has wordpress forms on their sites are adding a tickbox that must be ticked before their form is submitted.

As we will recieve the guest visitors email address when they submit the form we will need to comply to this part of the GDPR.

  4. Hi,

Will it be possible to add this for guest submissions? If not we will just restrict the option for registered members.

Add something like this to the form to become GDPR compliant by requesting consent?

Add & mark a check box as a required field and label it with something like "I consent to having Compu-Global-Hyper-Mega-Net collect my details via this form". Now the form will only submit when consent is given.

    Thanks

    [data-pagemodule="system"][data-pagecontroller="register"] .af_Container,[data-pagemodule="system"][data-pagecontroller="login"] .af_Container {display:none}

I tried adding this to stop it showing on the /support/ section with the following code but have got something wrong as the footer is still displaying in that section.

Can you point out where I have gone wrong?

    [data-pagemodule="system"][data-pagecontroller="register"][data-pagemodule="support"] .af_Container,[data-pagemodule="system"][data-pagecontroller="login"][data-controller="support"] .af_Container {display:none}

  6. Hi,

Since the lastest upgrade of IPS and this plugin, due to the new follow and promote being added it is causing your template to really squeeze the title.

    IE - https://www.walkingfootball.com/interviews/malewalkingfootballplayers/interview-with-tameside-striders-central-defender-david-partington-r103/

Would it be possible to have the title start underneath the promote and follow buttons so it is back to normal as in previous versions?

it’s all individual Pages feed blocks. You can’t add any ads into them, but of course between them.

    Hi,

    Thanks.

Would that be just between rows, or could we also add them in the columns like we currently have?

the problem is more than likely using an outdated babble.js, when you switched over to https, it changed your sites url "signature" which babble uses.

    Hi,

    Can you help?

just pm'd some code and a question from the support team

    here is the "tutorial"

    Hi,

Still getting same error as reported.

Webair techs have followed your instructions but report...

I saw a permissions error that was causing Babble to fail when it attempted to load the SSL certificate.

I updated the file permissions and babble.js now running without errors. However I still don't see your chat room connect to it.

    Babble is definitely running now.

At this point, it's either an issue with Babble itself, or an issue with the page.

You may want to reach out to the Babble developer. Let me know if you have any questions.

    Sincerely,

    2.6.7 has been released,

We have 2.6.7 version installed but still have the same issue where nobody can access the room and it just says connecting

I notice in your documentation here there is a box for a node private key but 2.6.7 version does not have this box - So we assume this is no longer required?

As this issue has only happened since we moved the site fromt HTTP to HTTPS what can I point the server guys to regarding that?

    Thanks

if you need me too, i can send you the new version in PM.

I managed to get that version downloaded.

But if you have any relevenant instructions on the forum you can send me in case the hosting tech wants to review them that would be great

2.6.7 has been released, I also recommend upgrading the babble.js and restarting it after that (as there are a few tweaks for the zombieKill process).

Thanks. Have installed and waiting for webhost to do their bit

Just thought I would let you know I have had trouble getting on your site today several times getting this error

    The connection has timed out

The server at codingjungle.com is taking too long to respond.

  13. Hi,

As you can probably remember we downgraded to 2.2.8 and it has been working fine.

However we have had to move over to HTTPS and following that the server techs could not get the chatroom working

So we upgraded babble to 2.6.6 but now Webair hosting are stumped on what to do on the server as when trying to enter the chatroom it just sits there saying connecting.

    They followed your instructions here:

    https://codingjungle.com/tutorials/babble/babble-self-hosted-install-guide-24-r31/

And have asked the following question:

Checking further the babble.js throws the following error message.
Could you please check with the developer regarding this error message and let us know for further clarifications,
