Sorry, one question more I have added an Extra Field in ACP, but I cannot see it on the edit/add screen of the link. Is there is something I need to do more to use the field?
-
Just one question: is it possible to define the packages the way that only some user groups have to pay to add links and other groups can make it for free?

Ok, I'm dropping the PAID links feature and will add a Package module. New version yet this week.
I can see the paid submission setting in the ACP. Have you implemented packages already? If yes, how do I use them?
-
Suggestion: we desperately need a widget with link reviews (not comments! we do not use comments at all). Is there any plans to add the widget for the link reviews?
-
Have anybody found a solution for it?

You submit RSS like sitemaps, same area, they are just listed along with your sitemaps in the Google Webmaster.

@sadams101, have you tried to use RSS to submit newest content to Google? You can create RSS in ACP and then submit the feeds along with your sitemap.

Really? Your uses can't see a BIG GREEN BUTTON that says VISIT THE SITE?
Unfortunately. The stats for hits are really very low. The stats for views are high.
-
Domain names that contain non-latin characters are displayed encoded on the link view under the title.
The real domain name is https://владимиру-путину.рф It would be also better if a link under the domain name would be clickable. At least optionally? It seems that our user just do not "see" the button "Visit the site" with link. Our hits stats is even worse as bad after few months.

Could you post your condition content/code?
Sure. I have edited my post above. You are just too fast with your answers
Forget it, the condition is buggy
-
When I create a new condition and apply it to the advertisement, then the site throws error 500. In server logs I see the fatal error:
Method IPS\core\Advertisement::__toString() must not throw an exception, caught ParseError: syntax error, unexpected ':'
File: /htdocs/init.php(867) : eval()'d code
When condition is "unapplied" then error disappears.
The condition is
{{if in_array(request.app, array('forums', 'gallery')}}1{{endif}}

Lastmod is not set in sitemap for links.
<url> <loc> https://www.mysite.com/links/link/1966-my-super-link/ </loc> <lastmod>1970-01-01T00:00:00+00:00</lastmod> <priority>1</priority> </url>
For me I do not use comments but only reviews, so lastmod should be the date of the newest review on the link.
I have updated IPS to 4.4.3 and Links Directory to 5.3.2. There is still the same issue in the sitemap. This should be feasible now
QuoteNew useful methods:
Item::lastModificationDate() - The sitemap generation uses this method to get the last modification date.

You asked if the uploaded version is the correct (i.e. latest one) one, which I confirmed.
OK. I just wanted to be sure that I have the latest version 1.0.1 despite of the version I see in ACP. Thanks!

Yes it was.
I have downloaded it twice, no chance. The version of plugin is 1.0.0. Something is wrong with marketplace or you have not updated a version in XML. This is what I see with editor:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <plugin name="Add Items to Mobile Navbar" version_long="10000" version_human="1.0.0" author="Ralf Herrmann" website="" update_check="">
ACP "says" the same.

Plugin version in Marketplace - 1.0.1. But after installation there is a version 1.0.0 shown in ACP. Can you please recheck if the correct file was uploaded to Marketplace? Thank you!

@sadams101 the pages that are crawled but not indexed have been already found by spider. Otherwise it would know the pages even exist. So I just miss a logic here: why do you think that crawled but not indexed pages are there due to the "false" sitemap?
20 minutes ago, sadams101 said:A full sitemap let's google know that the content is important enough to index.
That would mean if the page is found by spider but is not included in the sitemap it will not be indexed. But if the same page is included in the sitemap then it will be indexed?

As a general SEO rule, the more keywords your site is ranking for, the more organic search traffic you should see, and this is simply because there are more possible ways to find your site in search. I saw the number of keywords that my site was ranking for drop in unison with the number of pages that were crawled but not in their index--it looked to me like a direct correlation--and it makes sense, because if 85% of my forum's pages are de-indexed, then so are any key words associated with those pages.
This is not fully correct. If 85% of your pages had almost no traffic before drop then there will be no decrease in traffic after the drop. It means that the number of pages does not always correlate to traffic. Old pages, outdated pages, pages without valuable content can be just a number in the index but do not give you any traffic.
How does the HUGE drop of indexed pages you have watched on the 8th of April affected your site traffic? Have you seen the drop in Performance report (Google Webmaster) or in Google Analytics?

Hi, is there any setting for the new links needed to be approved by moderator before showing on the site?
-
@TheJackal84, any news on the issue with category block not showing to guests?
-
I have run an experiment for over a month. I have increased the number of entries in one sitemap from 500 to 1500 and have added lastmod date to the sitemap index that contains the last modification date of the newest entry in the sitemap (and NOT the timestamp of sitemap generation). Result: there was a slight increase in page indexed by Google, BUT there was no change in organic search traffic.
For me it is not worth just increasing the number of pages in index if there is no influence on traffic. That's why I have given up to "optimize" the sitemap. Can somebody here give a prove that number of pages in Google index correlates with organic search traffic from Google? I mean the traffic is the goal at the end of the day and not the number of indexed pages.

Keywords Tooltip: The setting Keywords Behaviour seems not to work for URL Keywords. There is no hovercard on the keyword even if I use Both or Hovecard Only in the ACP settings. It is alway Click Only. Non-URL-Keywords work as desired.
@CodingJungle, is it a bug or a feature?
-
The block with club categories is not shown for guests. The reason is: the selector to append block is #elMyClubs and there is no such block for the guests. Can you please change it, so that categories are shown to guests as well?

So if I just wanted to run a one-off contest for several weeks and then turn it off can I do that?
We normally run an annual contest each year. Voting spans several weeks. Then we pick a winner and send prizes. The contest comes back the next year. Do you see any limitations? I already purchased and installed so I am trying to figure out how to adapt what I was doing to this.
This is what we need also. Just run a contest as a one-time-action and then pause till next contest ist planned. There should be a history for the previous contests with winners and prizes. But there should not be any "automatic" contest each month.
