On another forum site you can search for 3 letter words and 2 letter words by using quotes "usa" for example - I am not sure if this is a built in feature or something written for the software - but perhaps this is a way around the 4 character limit?

1) +import +from +coppermine might be better for you :)
2) Agree the 20 seconds can annoying. Should be less for members.
3) Been mentioned before, it is annoying and get's in the way.

Just beware that if you delete a participant, you cannot re-invite them. :(
Mass PM would be great - there is a mod that does that. -
If his friend has 3.0.4 then he would have access here - otherwise he would not have been able to download. If he was able to download, but not have access here then he needs to put a ticket in.
Please do not pass him your copy of the software, otherwise you could find yourself in trouble. -
I tried a third party solution to this (as we had it on our last forum with no resource issues at all), but it dragged the entire site down. So uninstalled and left well alone.

Thanks - I didn't see the status post by Evanescence before I posted, but she says it might have been an ex-employee. I hope all is sorted out soon.
Let us hope it was a rogue admin, rather than a hacker.

Hi,
I see that http://www.ibskin.com/forums have now apparently been hacked.
This follows another third party site for IPB which was hacked about 3 weeks ago.
Is IP.Board safe if these sites are being hacked?
< I will ask my other question via a ticket, just in case it is a backdoor >
Thanks. -
Okay thanks (didn't read your reply ;) ), - if the author can't support his own product, I think it is best I stay well clear - shame as it is a nice skin.

Your site says $15, or 3,000 Forint - how do we order?
(Do not have any desire to join another forum sorry) -
I only did this because you like Radiohead, by the way. If your favourite band was the "cheeky girls", I would not have done it and furthermore, I would have changed all method functions to private just to be spiteful.
Quick Michael - put in all your other requests ;) -
When a member makes a post that is subject to moderator approval - it would be nice if this post appeared to the user, but stayed hidden to all other groups that cannot see such a post.
That way the user would know it has been made and secondly could edit the post prior to it's approval (subject to his editing rights on the forum)
It could then be marked as awaiting approval.- SandraS, wepfijweoifj and Graeme S.

when it is shown as read, it would go to the first post, or they can click on 'top' on any post if they still have unread posts
-
i know that but I guess because we can from a forum that just went to the first unread post by clicking the subject, people are used to it.Me, I am not fussed - but my users complain about any change!
-
would be nice to have go to first unread post on all topics (i.e. in the forum view) when clickng on the subject - saves me having to hack it for each skin ;)
-
Yes, of course they are, but in IPB 3 they don't appear in the topic list when you post a topic like they did in ipb 2.3x. because they're being deprecated.
Why do you say they are being depreciated? Surely they would have gone with v3 if that was the case. Are you saying pinning topics is also going as it is in that area. -
They are there - 'click to configure post options' when making a new post.
-
-
sorry, yes you are correct - too used to just giving limited access LOL
-
I'll add to that the PLESK Control Panel
http(s)://chosen-prefix.myhostingcompany.com:8443
Or usually www.yourdomain.com:8443 will also work.I know we configure our Plesk servers to do that, which is the default I believe. -
Likewise for the error reports - would be nice to know which forum the user had the permissions error on to help to track down any permission issues.
-
True - but then most hooks including the shoutbox ruin any w3 validation.
But I take your point. -
You will need to edit the globaltemplate
find<div id='footer_utilities' class='clearfix clear rounded'>
BEFORE it add....
<div id='secondary_nav'> <ul id='breadcrumb' class='left'> <php>$this->did_first = 0;</php> <if test="switchnavigation:|:!$this->settings['remove_forums_nav'] OR ipsRegistry::$current_application == 'forums'"> <li class='first'><a href='{parse url="act=idx" seotitle="false" base="public"}'>{$this->settings['board_name']}</a></li> <if test="didfirstnav:|:$this->did_first=1"></if> </if> <foreach loop="navigation:$items['navigation'] as $idx => $data"> <li<if test="notdonefirstapp:|:!$this->did_first"> class='first'</if>><if test="didfirstappnow:|:$this->did_first"><span class='nav_sep'>></span></if> <if test="navigationlink:|:$data[1]"><a href='{parse url="{$data[1]}" base="public" seotitle="$data[2]" template="$data[3]"}' title='{$this->lang->words['nav_return_to']}{$data[0]}'></if>{$data[0]}<if test="closenavigationlink:|:$data[1]"></a></if></li> <if test="forsuredidfirstnav:|:$this->did_first=1"></if> </foreach> </ul> </div>

You can remove it for $275 :)
reopening closed tickets?
in Feedback
Posted
Hi,
Very frustrating when tickets are auto-closed not to be able to re-open it.
Seems daft to have to start a new ticket, refer to the existing ticket and repeat oneself. it must also be annoying for the person at IPS to have to look up one or more previous tickets.
Please consider allowing tickets to be re-opened.
