  1. The screen you're showing is not the issue screen. Issues do work the way you want, but you need to set them up correctly. 

    The screen you're looking at is the content screen. This is where you decide what kind of content is in each newsletter - for example, you might have manual editor content, followed by recent topics, then by gallery images.

    When you're on the main newsletter screen (the one that lists all the newsletters), each newsletter should have an option for "Manage Issues". On that screen you set up the issue date and the content.

    Another thing. I am adding the *|unsubscribe|* keyword to our footer, however it is not being replaced by the proper unsubscription link. See attached.

    If you're using the "test distribution" button, the unsubscribe does not work there. It only gets replaced during an actual distribution.

    I've just hit another roadblock. I created a test newsletter and the newsletter is being sent with the "Subject" field set as the newsletter's title/name, not with the issue title/name. We need to send each issue with a different title (issue number + date). Please see what I am talking about in the attached screenshots. Please advise.

    I'm afraid this isn't supported at the moment. I can add it to my list, but I have no ETA right now.

    1. yes, new members are automatically subscribed (assuming that the newsletter is configured to send to their group)

    2. Yes.

    I don't know what I can really do about the line break. I'm using the standard IPS form there, there's no special styling or formatting involved. Best I can do is change the form (and it's a code-level change, not something you can do yourself) to put the newsletter name above the toggle.

    PS: "Distribution times are calculated according to GMT." IMO it should use the date in the user's locale and convert automatically, just like it happens by default on IPS (e.g., on Pages).

    Ignore the "article" text. I think that's how it was named in my original version (created about 6 years ago) and it stuck. That is what you're looking for, though.

    In this case, you likely don't want any distribution interval, and you just want to use "Manual" instead (it should be one of the options in the dropdown - daily/weekly/every 2 weeks/monthly/annually/manual). When you use manual distribution, you schedule the newsletter to go out on a certain date, and it distributes only once, on that date. The next time you want to publish an issue, just change the "Next Distribution Date" and it will go out again at that time.

    You make them. When you add content to the newsletter, you enter a key. The key is the variable name. Totally up to you.

    Yikes! Obviously that shouldn't happen. Please PM me with ACP credentials so that I can troubleshoot.

    Publish means "send now". 

    If the newsletter is active and scheduled, it should go out, providing that

    1) you have newsletter content

    2) you have recipients (sounds like you do)

    3) you have scheduled tasks running more or less regularly. That would be either via cron job or with sufficient site activity. Check your tasks in the ACP and see when the newsletter one was last triggered.

    Thank you @Joel R for your assistance in troubleshooting this issue.

    This turned out to be an IPS issue related to parsing FURL definitions. A new version has been uploaded to the Marketplace and the issue has been reported to IPS.

    I will not be changing the layout of the application. So far I've had at least 4 requests for layout changes, all completely different from each other. There is no way for me to make everyone happy. You are free to customize the layout any way you choose. Templates can be found with all other IPS templates, under feed -> front -> feed.

    I disabled Social Stream, and it worked as normal. Enabled and issue started again.

    Sure, PM me with it. It doesn't even make any sense... there is not a single line of code in the Social Stream that touches the profile in any way. I can't even imagine where to begin to troubleshoot this.

  15. A new version has been uploaded to the Marketplace. Changes include:

    • JavaScript timing issue caused the set to be disabled on some forms. Fixed.
    • Required dropdowns now have an empty option to force users to make a selection.

    In my case I manage the inventory of a store with forum.

     

    Right now the templates are only visible on the topic itself, and not on the listing pages. It's something I've been meaning to do, but haven't had the chance yet. It will be a couple more weeks until I can get that in there.

    It's not lost. It just doesn't work that way. The fields are not actually stored with the post, they're stored with the topic. I make them display after the post, but they're not part of that content.

    In theory, if you merge a topic, I could just drop that template info in with the post content, but when the post is edited, it would be one long block of text. No individual fields.

    I completely missed this post, I apologize. 

    It's interesting that it's timing out, I have clients running this mod and distributing to a couple hundred thousand members without a timeout. I will look into it and see if there is a way to improve this. 

    Sparkpost's rate is hard-coded into IPS code and I cannot override it. I think it's 1500 emails per cycle.

    I can't reproduce this issue. If I go to the create screen with a calendar selected, the set dropdown is not disabled. If a default set is defined, it is properly selected. I have tested this with 2 calendars, each with one set configured (a different one for each calendar). I have tried with a default set defined and not defined. I have tried with a set required and not required. All tests are successful.

    Do you have any JavaScript errors in your console?

    If the calendar is already selected, that's a bug. I'll look into it, but it may not be for a couple of days.

    If, for example, i've got fields added to a Calendar template, the sets aren't showing until i change the Calendar that the entry is going in to.  The box which normally displays the Set name is just blank and disabled.  Once i change the Calendar, (even if i select a different one and then the original one again), then the dropdown box which displays the Set name becomes enabled and selects the default set for that Calendar's container.

    There's actually no way around that. Logically speaking, until you select a calendar, I have no idea which sets should be available or if you should have a set at all. Some calendars will have one set, some will have another, others will have none. It would be worse for the user to choose a set that is unrelated to the calendar, only to have it disabled  (and ignored) after entering data into the fields.
