It would be nice if there were a setting that if there were either no avatar or no personal photo that one override the other.

As such say I didn't have an avatar or I deleted my avatar but still had my personal photo that the personal photo would take over the places an avatar would.

As such I would like it in a vice versa way.

That way if you had a community of Avatar uploaders but didn't like to upload their personal photo images won't be vacant but also images that would be vacant wouldn't be so required to seem human.

I'll be the minority - I don't have any problems with the new UCP. I found it intuitive and easy to find what I was looking for.

I have some suggestions that I would love to see implemented in the UCP in the future; these suggestions are both original and derived from other forum software. I hope to see some added in the future!

UCP Layout
I don't think the tabbed layout works that well with the UCP. I like the fact that there are tabs, but I don't like the fact the layout revolves around them. I like the old style of the left-hand-side options. Possibly some AJAX for expanding and contracting them, and maybe still use tabs a bit? It's sometimes complex to understand which tab something is on (profile & settings get confused alot) etc; also, make common features accessable easily (possibly an optional dashboard?)

Profile Field Privacy/Private Profiles
I've noticed this feature in vB, and I fell in-love with it. I know that IPB is trying to stay away from becoming a massive scattered social network platform, but this is a feature I see as very useful; especially in the area of hiding contact details for only friends to see; and for preventing ignored users from viewing areas of the profile/posting messages. I strongly support implimenting this into IPB3

Those are my main concerns, also, there are some posted on this thread (CUSTOMER/STAFF ACCESS ONLY, SORRY).

As a returning Invision customer (gone three years), I was curious about ticket responses. I guess I was spoiled with vB usually getting a response after about an hour or so. I have a ticket open which has been dragging on for days. I send in a reply and by the time I get a response from support, usually 24 hrs have passed - basically I hear nothing until the next day. It`s making solving even a simple issue seem like it has been going on forever.

Example:

One day: Sent in a ticket regarding a problem after a conversion
Following day: Have you tried running the converter again - Same day I reply: I cannot do this because......
Following day: Have you tried changing permissions - Same day I reply: No because I have suPHP installed and 777 not needed.
Following day: Did you remove the converter script because it is showing as no there - Same day I reply: Yes because it was posing a security risk leaving it active, did you want me to reinstall it again?
Following day: I await the next ticket!!!!!

I`m guessing the way this is going, it could be a week or more before we even get close to making a start on this problem once the tickets have been sent back and forth.

IPB Staff, i have had my ticket open for 20 hours.. and not a single reply , all i want is 2.3.X Converters with instructions...i need them asap , but been waiting for 20 hours..

Any quick response is greatly appreciated .

Why not? What if I did a search for a topic on this site and found a post that clearly and accurately addresses an issue, but it was posted 6 months ago? It may be the first time I've seen the post, and the author truly deserves reputation points for the post, but based on some arbitrary date cut-off they won't get the points?

We posted a blog entry about this recently. Basically, RC1 can be considered "safe" to use in that your forum won't implode or anything :) but there could still be some bugs.

You could always wait a few days after we post RC1 to see if there are any reports of major bugs or problems and evaluate from there.
