I'd go off your own testing rather than everyone elses

Of course, that will be when the beta is stable :)

I expect it will be this week, but we would tend to review, see where we are, then decide if we need another beta or we can go to stable.

 

If all goes well, we'll do the final release Tuesday of next week.

Launch the Support link in ACP and you will see an auto-update.

I got an error message during the upgrade process and I needed to upload the email-sending files related to SendGrid manually. I think this was once fixed in a prior 5.x version by the team because the sendgrid feature somehow blocked the email settings completly.

Now all works out fine but I was wondering if the SendGrid feature is not available anymore since it is not appearing in my email settings in the ACP.

I think the error was caused back them because I still had an outdated SendGrid API code stored in the system.

Did you try to upgrade manually? If that's the case it looks like the files weren't overwritten with those from the new version. If you are already on a 5 version, it's best to do the upgrade through the Admin Panel imo, as mentioned above. If you are on a 4.x version then the manual upgrade is the required method instead.

I haven't modified any files in the core system, only added page templates via the AdminCP... seeing stuff like this brings me mad anxiety lol, I thought we were never going to see these kinds of notices again because of the change in how themes could be edited in the backend (I was looking forward to never having to see a "this upgrade will cause conflict with your themes" page ever again). 😄

To add to the topic. I had to manually upload applications / core / extensions / core / CommunityEnhancements / SendGrid.php to be able to update my board.

I had the same - 2 files needed to be uploaded manualy - both SendGrid related.

My update has resulted in a 500 error message on the main page (resulting in just a blank white screen). I'm not getting any error messages in the logs and can access the ACP without issue. It doesn't indicate any issues either and says all the files are fine.

Have you disabled all 3rd party items? Anything showing up in your server error logs you can share? If you update your access details on file, we can take a look to see what is happening for you.

I had disabled everything but the forums. When I upgraded, I got that message about the multiple files having been modified. It never threw any error messages in the log. I was able to figure it out by enabling show php errors. Apparently there was one file that didn’t get replaced. Once I manually replaced it, everything is working now.
