Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications Matt November 11, 2024Nov 11
Posted March 22, 20231 yr When trying to upload photos I'm getting error messages that I've reached the limit even though I'm way off. Gives this error. Tried lots of different photo combinations with the same result, seems it thinks the limit is much lower than its set as.
March 22, 20231 yr These can be affected by 3 different things. Either limits on your user group, limits on upload as a whole, or PHP limits. Have you checked all 3 of those items? If so, who are you logged in as when you are testing this? I can then take a look for you
March 22, 20231 yr Author I'm logged in as admin and the limit hasn't been changed for a long time. and php limit Logged in and tried on the Invision account on my site too with the same error. Edited March 22, 20231 yr by marklcfc
March 22, 20231 yr Go to domain.com/attachments. It sounds like you’re hitting the Total Max Storage limit, which is the current file you are uploading plus all previous uploads. https://invisioncommunity.com/attachments/ for example on this site.

I was hopeful for a moment then but I'm not close to the limit set
March 22, 20231 yr Are you a part of any other member group? Looks like 20KB is getting limited there for your content uploads but if it is 2000KB then you should be fine.

No and like I said it happened on the Invision account too which is in a different group. Also tried it on a normal member and the exact same is happening
March 22, 20231 yr Author I'm wondering whether its just these files that have the issue, I reduced the file size for them through the tinypng site. I just tested downloading some random google images and uploading them and they went through without error. Edited March 22, 20231 yr by marklcfc
March 23, 20231 yr Before we continue any further, one more thing to check. Have you checked the space on your hosting?

But as mentioned for some reason other files downloaded worked, but this set of files I reduced in tinypng didn't.
