HTTP ERROR 500 when trying to search

A user has pointed this out and I have confirmed I can repeat it.

Entering something in the search box then pressing enter results in "This page isn't working" and "HTTP ERROR 500"

There are two entries in the error log but they refer to repeated searches in a short time e.g. please wait 18 more seconds...

Could I please confirm that you are checking the error log entry on your server rather than the error log in our software's ACP? A 500 Internal Serve Error will stop our software from processing so would not be logged in our software's error log. You would need to get your server's error log to see the issue here. If you are unsure how to do that, please contact your hosting provider.

This is what the error log shows for each attempt at a search:

It looks like one of your third party plugins is interfering and not working right. Turn them off one by one to find the culprit and then work with the resource author.  🙂

In addition, if you click the hooks button on the admin CP and look for hook 1, you should find the name of the app/plugin

Turns out the search works if I switch off the Birthdays Widget from @Adriano Faria. I had only just added that because the users wanted birthdays back in the calendar - ironic.

I use that widget myself and don't have a problem with searching.  So it might be something unique to your setup.  Also try reinstalling it again and see if the problem comes back.  It might just be a bad install.

I see you have found the issue now, but if you ever need this again, its in the support section of the admin CP, as indicated here

Thank you but it seems I blamed your widget unfairly. I re-enabled it and search still worked - so I have no idea why it was producing an error but it no longer is!
